There is no system of actively using it. As long as people have TeenspotXBL added as a friend they will appear on the list for you to find, so go ahead and add it, the more people who add it the more useful it will be.

I'm actually a newb to the whole Xbox live thing. I've been playing under my brother's tag for a while, though, but I never really did anything but play games, and only NCAA Football at that.

Although I like this idea, I think it would be more orderly, convenient, and simple to create a thread where people can drop their tags, and the thread creator can periodically update the original post with the Teenspot member's username, followed by their gamer tag. As some people have pointed out, using this system does pose a few problems. For anonymous gameplay, it's fine, but sometimes its's nice to know who you're playing with and you won't always know who's who by just adding people on the list. Secondly, there is the 100 friend cap which is a lot of gamer tags but, at the same time, people will inevitably want to pick and choose who's on their list and who isn't and the meta-tag idea isn't very conducive to this for the first reason. Lastly, there's always the hassle on your part to accept the friend request on Xbox live; sure you'd also have to update the list here, but at least we can spare you the trouble part of the time and skim through the thread on our own.

I know that this is just for the purpose of "being able to play with other members of the community" but, in every case, it's about being able to play with members that you recognize, otherwise it's just another random user.

EDIT: Yikes, this is an old thread, but if anyone is considering creating a thread where there's a giant list to sort through, then that would probably be the best idea. Actually, it'd probably be better to organize it where one Teenspot username contains one or more tags from networks such as Xbox Live, PSN, Steam, etc.
