Hi,
So i was just wondering what some people are doing to "go green". What do you do and why do you do it? What are some things I can do to do my part in saving the planet?
thanks

Going Green

Buy a SUV. Or anything with a high fuel usage. The faster we burn through the fossile resources the faster we'll be able to start with renewable resources. True story.

I don't know about America but in the EU we're already being green. We already recycle all our shit and all that. All those emissions have gone down, etcetera. I've just gotten used to it. Plus everyone is using those new CFL lights.
All I need now is a range rover to finish it off.Kid, I'm a marathon, your thought's a quarter mile

My car doesn't even have a catalytic converter.

I don't really have many chances to be green. I recycle my electronics and shit.

Every evening I use teenspot while driving around the block in my 20 year old truck for hours while pouring gas out the window.

Dont forget the gas-driven generator you need in order to get electricity for teenspot.

I'm all for being enviromental. Just don't send trash and lightbulb police to my house, otherwise I'm just going to pollute out of spite.

Video of George Carlin talking about saving the planet; he makes a good point.I'm not a computer nerd, I'm an 8-bit hero

No, he doesn't. He picks up on a semantic matter, that's it. It's funny. I like George Carlin as much as the next guy. But what he says is completely irrelevant to the Green movement, except perhaps that it uses some overdramatic language.

Well I associate "going green" with Earth Day, which made me think of his rant.
But correct you are; I only admit defeat because you also like Carlin as well as xkcd.

Hey,
Things that I do to be green are: recycle, environmentally friendly shopping bags and stop buying plastic bags (if you have plastic bags keep reusing them), look on the internet for environmentally friendly groups/causes that will take in my garbage (recyclables) that i collected and will make into something new that you can use - these sites are really cool and not hard to find (iv been looking more into trying this lately), find sites that tells me what products are better for me to get/more environmentally friendly and what I can do with the non environmentally friendly products, pick up litter where ever I go/see it, don't take long showers, turn water off while brushing teeth or scrubbing hands, turn lights off before leaving room/when i don't need it to see, limit the amount of time I'm using electrons and turn them off after done, walking and riding bike more as use of transportation. More ways I "go green" are by planting more trees, etc. When I have to drive I use car/gas wisely - don't waste it, use environmentally friendly cleaning products, environmentally friendly lightbulbs, etc. I can go on for hours about this stuff
I do this because its the right thing to do and I want to make our planet healthy again. Message me in my inbox if you would like to know more things that you can do to "go green".

----- Things I am doing to be green -----
1 - First I changed all my lights from 60w incandescent to 13w CFLs and not I am changing over from 13w CFLs to 3.5w LEDs
2 - I recycle every thing.
3 - I use a product called Soda Stream. No need for taking back pop cans and pop bottles to the bottle depot.
4 - I use a laptop instead of a desktop when I don't need the power thus using around 70w at most vs using around 120w for the same tasks.
5 - I use an espresso machine that uses $0.0072 worth of power to make a cup of coffee and only using 15w of power.
6 - I use a MP3 player or my Sony cd player that supports Atrac3Plus format and uses 1x AA battery to play a 400 song (700mb) cd 4 times using only 3w of power vs using a computer or stereo system.
7 - I use flash memory cards and USB flash drives for storage vs using a HDD.
8 - I drive a full electric car. Cost for power to fully charge it $5 to get 62 miles at worst mileage. My car also has built in solar panels and stuff on the glass to produce power while its not plugged in reducing the amount of money I pay to charge it. The batteries in the car has a 8 year warranty so before it expires I will be using the warranty to get new batteries put into my car this it costing me less in the long run.
While a gas powered car cost around $9.27 worth of gas roughly every 62 miles.
9 - I have a outdoor fruit, veggie and herb garden along with a indoor one for year round food production.

If there is a way to recycle too much, I definitely do it.

It is the worlds biggest marketing scam! How do we know that the Earths climate has changed compared to the way it was thousands of years ago? There were no thermometers around 4000 years ago. Science makes up these tests to fit within a certain time frame and to agree with the theory that they came up with to make it seem like they have some evidence to back it up.
