The problem also arises when you start to define theory because ID and special creation are not theories in science. They are hypotheses that have no positive indicators. You would be just as well off saying a FSM created all the biodiversity as you would presenting your class with the book "Of Pandas and People."
You do have a point, however, I do agree with Whateveryo_ when he says they should be taught. I mean, come on, only a fool is going to pick Intelligent design over natural selection when they're taught both in school.

Hell no. Religious theories should never be taught in a public school, that belongs to the confines of a home and/or church, with other believers in imaginary friends. Evolution has been proven over and over and over again.

WhiteMage has a good point of view on this.

then lets kick out all philosophy teachings from schools also, because most of it is just mumbo jumbo that has no relevance with real world.

Actually, many ancient philosophers were concerned with living a good and happy life.

Not to mention, not many public secondary schools in Canada or North America offer philosophy classes. Mine did, but I think epistemology is quite a valuable think to learn about. Not to mention, it was through an international programme, not part of regular school curriculum.

In contrast, that remaining 99% can have a huge effect on the health and welfare of others.... Keep all we can conceivably need and distribute the rest to society, for its need.'

You don't know Texas. Hell, my old high school allowed the church of Christ to bring in a creationism expert(Dr. Harrub) and host a creationism event after school in the auditorium. The phrase "If humans are evolved from monkeys why are there still monkeys" got standing ovations until the speaker asked everyone to sit down so he could proceed basing atheists and scientists.

Philosophy is not the same thing as religion. And it sure as hell does not try to replace science.

Youve gone to IB? Good school, theory of knowledge should be taught in all schools as a normal subject. Used to be together with a girl who went to that kind of school, stole her ToK books after we broke up :p

actually its completely same in the context we are discussing it.
Nor does teaching other religious believes in school makes it trying to replace science.

No, it was actually an accredited university. He made good grades and had a good defense for his thesis.

Brad Harrub holds an earned B.S. degree in biology from Kentucky Wesleyan College, and an earned doctorate degree in anatomy and neurobiology from the College of Medicine at the University of Tennessee in Memphis
I think he's doing it for the money. You can make 2-5k in a weekend giving a couple of 2 hour long presentations over creation. If he does it full time he could be making 10k a week easy. Put it this way the first thing I noticed was that he drives a foreign sports car and wears a rolex.

I loved the class. My teacher had a hard-on for the Allies though. One time I mentioned how France lost in WWII, and he said they didn't. If any there was a time for a facepalm.

Creationists are fighting to recognize a diety that humans thought up to satisfy their curiosity about things we can't explain.
1-do you see jellyfish worshiping god?
2-years ago humans used to think that "god" controlled rain and other weather patterns. Then we discovered meteorology. I can only trust the facts.

As a Theist I have found most evolutionists to be close minded and intelectuly dull incapable of thinking outside the box. Most cant even grasp or understand any consept that they can not observe with their senses they believe all that can exist must be observable by humans and be comprehensible by human law. They expect beings on higher plains of existence to be subject to our dimensional laws. they can not comprehend how time began or what will happen after time, they cannot grasp abstract concepts or thoughts. they seem to only be abe to see whats shoved directly into their face.

And theists refuse to see anything else even when facts are shoved into their face..

facts are facts there is no refuting them, if they are truly facts they cannot be disproved. I am a theist because i was first and always agnostic. every day i question why i Believe what I believe, for I believe what i believe because it is true to me and when one seeks the truth what does it hurt to challenge my belief? the truth always comes out on top. once again you give a statment with no exaples or back up just a simple statment that backs up my simple mind theory.

First i must comment on using wikipedia as a source it is in acurate except for the most basic definition of terms. second the article seems to be purly theoreticle and their diagram was a joke. id love to read an actula scientific jornal on the matter that would compare two cromosones gene by gene to actuly make a valid assumtion and conclusion.
