    Greeks, the Romans did some amazing stuff, but they were a very brutal culture. The greeks are better cause they were alot more civilised, but could be brutal when needed.

    The Romans weren't that brutal, or at least not as brutal as some of their opponents. To be wholly instinctive like an animal, cruel and vicious, you must have heart.

    Hahaha, Staturn knows my stance on this, but Greece. Because of the very airy-fairy reason that they valued life, knowledge and understanding, whereas Roman society seems, much like our modern society, to be focused on dubious "honour", war, and death. (I except Sparta from this, though their record on women's emancipation is pretty good)

    Also, if you look at the geography of Greece, the idea that the most developed culture, art and philosophy of the ancient world could basically evolve from a bunch of feuding city states is pretty amazing.

    That said, from an imperial point of view, Rome had the bigger accomplishments. I'd much rather live in Ancient Greece than Ancient Rome, however.

    Also, Romans suck major ass for demolishing Corinth.
    Αλήθεια.

    ask me anything.

    Just compare sports tastes: Greece had Olympics-- Rome had lions eating Christians in the Coliseum! Nuff proof for me who had the far better culture!

    Greece! Greece built the foundation of modern civilization, the Romans I believe just upgraded lol on what the Greeks had already created. Just look at all the amazing people that came from Greece; Socortes, Plato, Aristole, Alexander the Great, Homer etc. So many things were born in Greece; philisophy, democracy etc. They even dominated the massive Persian army, and that's all I can think of right now lol

    Agreed.

    Theatrically speaking, the Greeks are the fore-fathers of Western Theatre as we know it - the Romans took Greek plays and adapted them to their own standards.

    And for some reason, I feel like most Roman emperors went completely off the deep end and started forcing their advisors to drink poison.
    How darkly the dark hand met his end
    He was withered and bony, exposed for a phony
    But we heed the last words that he penned ;
    Haste to disgrace the traitor
    Do not wait for later
    Don't think that you've got to pretend

    I see God in birds and Satan in long words.
