I watched Solaris today. Technically the second time I saw it but the first time I really payed attention. Going to watch again tomorrow. Very strange movie, very cool though. I don't know how to post a synopsis without giving away the whole thing but suffice it to say it's worth checking out if you like good Sci-Fi, or George Clooney's bare ass. The movie contains a lot of both.

I really liked Google Chrome, but it kept on leaving my computer turned on when I left it and didn't close it. Firefox used to have some stability issues on my PC but it's working much better now, so I'm back to it. I like the fact that Chrome is so quick though.

Like, your computer was set to go to sleep after x amount of idle time and wouldn't do it if Chrome was left open?

Yup.
Also, at least when I was using it, it didn't have RSS support.

That's quite strange. How long ago did you use it? Was it still in beta? I'm pretty sure it has RSS support now and I also find it unlikely that a problem that prevents your computer from reporting idle would go unfixed for long.

Well maybe I've missed the RSS part, but the build I'm using, 4.0.213, still has the issue.

Oh, I have Chrome, I just found the idea of it being revolutionary quite daft. It is great and I really like it (been using it for a couple of months now), but it mostly just improves on preexisting ideas. If it had an interface that involved a naked Anna Kournikova, I'd say it is revolutionary. I still have Firefox, IE, and Opera, but that's mostly just because even Google fucks up and because some sites are IE specific.

I actually liked Safari as well for the brief moment I used it, and it seems to have a lot in common with Chrome.

I saw the video for Google Wave, it looked fucking amazing. Too bad I don't really IM at all.

I switched from the regular version to see if the issue had been addressed.

Tbh Niki I don't use it now that my Firefox works well, but it is much more stable than Chrome was when I first ran it (when it first came out). The only thing that still annoys me is if a tab freezes it opens itself up in a new window.

Sorry if I didn't have the patience to sit through the technotalk, what's the big deal?

It's poised to replace just about everything you do online. Social networking, email, forums, instant messaging, chat rooms, blogs, etc. Obviously it needs to be embraced for any of this to matter but I think it's slowly but surely going to become VERY prominent.
Here's the 10 minute abridged version. The full one is still worth watching but this should give you the gist of it.

I don't really get it...
...not to mention it seems to be way too public, not private enough.
