Very nice setup! Better than mine on the processor, I might be a bit better on the graphics, and we're the same on RAM.
And I made a Sith Inquisitor (basically a Sage) and if you go the route of damage dealing, the later levels will be damn good.
Shoot me a PM if you decide to move over to Elysium. My two characters are Empire but I'll probably make a Republic one sometime soon.

Already did. I'm working on a Jedi Knight that I'm liking much better. I'm always tempted by the Consular when I'm roleplaying a facsimile of myself in Bioware's SW games, since their traditional focus on contemplation, empathy, diplomacy etc. is appealing to me, and I like the idea of roleplaying a keeper of the peace who uses violence as a last resort rather than the first or second one. You know....a Jedi, rather than a holier-than-thou punk.
Then I actually play the game and remember that RPGs, no matter how open-ended they claim to be, are invariably about carving your way through hordes of nameless baddies who you have no way of interacting with other than letting air into their skull, and what interactions you do have are scripted to make sure you have to keep killing more people no matter what option you take. Hence why my supposedly wise and empathic character makes constant diplomatic and conversational missteps that lead to completely avoidable confrontations, like being unbelievably condescending to a guy whose father was just murdered because he's understandably angry and wants payback. Makes me feel less like Yoda and more like...well, like my real, annoyingly hypocritical self. Not something a game ought to aspire to.Life really does get better, whether you're bullied or not

Whoever on here recommended the Game of Thrones TV series, thank you SO much.
It is the greatest show I've ever seen, story wise, acting wise, in pretty much every aspect.
It's also motivated me to start reading the books again.
Godamnit now I can't wait for season 2.

Yeah, I sacrificed my social life by like 75% over the two months or so that I spent reading that series...it even got to the point where I would go out to my car on breaks from work just to read a chapter. Can't fucking wait for this Sunday.

Indeed, though hes already killed off two of the best characters in the first book alone :/
Still, he kind've made it up with the way he killed Viserys. I can understand wanting to read a book without stopping, same thing happened with me and the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan (though they got a little convoluted by the end, still just had to follow the characters)
Do you know if I can start reading the second book, not having read the first book but having seen the series?
I really don't like repetitiveness (redundancy?). I get the feeling I can, having read the synopsis for it on Wikipedia
Ill read it when I eventually re-read the series, because I definitely will, but I just finished the first season this week.

The first season stays very true to the book, so I suppose you could just move to Clash of Kings and not miss any main plot points. But there is a lot of background info in the first book that isn't mentioned in the series, so I would still recommend reading the book.

It really depresses me that the likes of Paul Ryan is the best the GOP can come up with at this point. The main difference between him and people like Bachmann and Perry seems to be that Ryan has some measure of eloquence. It's amusing enough that he thinks cutting revenue by half a trillion per year is the best way to balance the budget. However, it's downright infuriating that he mentions trimming the budget "so we can help the people who need it most", while cutting all the programs that do this in order to finance huge tax breaks for the rich and continued expansion of our already massively bloated military-industrial and prison-industrial systems. In short, giving more money to the segments of American society that are already the most overfunded, at the expense of the people who are most in need of help, such as people who are homeless or starving.
If there was a God who rewarded truth and punished falsehood, Ryan's seat in Congress would be a smoking crater by now.Last edited by Mr_Quick; 03-30-2012 at 03:55 PM.

Might be worth running an app by if the place comes under new management. It might be embarrassing if I get told to fuck off again, but the cost to me is otherwise essentially zero.
Also worth mentioning that in US politics, the alternative to diplomacy is generally an approach akin to calling the manager a faggot for not hiring you and maybe drawing a few cocks on the windows after closing. Which adds additional problems in addition to not solving the initial problem.Life really does get better, whether you're bullied or not

You honestly think that going from King Jong Il to Kim Jong-un constitutes "new management" in North Korea? That's adorable.
Now if the power dynamic between the U.S. and North Korea were the same power dynamic as between you and a potential employer... this would still be a woeful argument on your part."Oh, you think darkness is your ally.
