The worst rule in your school

I know all schools have some pretty stupid rules, but what do you think is the absolute worst rule at your school?

I think the stupidest rule at my school is that we can't eat lunch outside in the Spring/Summer. They have this whole area outside with nice picnic tables and such, but we're not aloud to eat out there. Why? Because if there's a terrorist attack [which, apparently, is very likely in a small suburban NJ town], we are better off inside...? Psh.

We can't hang out in groups of 5 or more because of the gang problem. We also can't wear our socks above our ankle because gang kids do it.

We have nice square tables in the cafeteria, and pretty nice chairs... not the average school chairs, y'know. Anyway, there is room around the table for eight people, but we can only have six... like, two on two sides and one on each of the other sides... which is dumb. There was a group of seven of us once and we couldn't sit together.

I'm still not sure what difference it makes.

they wont let us were tank tops or a muscle shirt, i got in trouble for wereing a mucle shirt and their were girls walking around in those thin straps..iknow what they called but i cant spell it now, mental block

Our shirts can't say anything hardly..because apparently everything is obscene, suggestive, double-meaning, and all that crap.

We can't walk around barefoot either... I broke my shoe one day and got detention for not having another pair and I had to walk around barefooted...

We also have stupid lunch rules... you can only sit at the long tables if you are a middle schooler and the circle ones if you are a highschooler(we have a combined middle/high school). And there are only 11 or 12 circle tables with 5 chairs at each table and they are trying to feed 250 to 300 highschoolers at the same time and you ABSOLUTELY can not sit at the long tables (even though no middle schoolers are eating at the same time as high schoolers)or on the floor (although, that is what me and my friends do anyways). And it is like the opposite for middle... there are a ton of long tables and only 200ish middleschoolers and they eat at three different lunch periods... GAY!

And, you HAVE to eat... like they watch how much you eat and I got detention once because I was sick and didn't eat...

And, we can't roll up one leg of our pants because "before you know it we will be tieing bandannas around that leg and bringing guns to school to shoot up the place"- that is EXACTLY what my old principal said when some 8th graders were rolling up one pant leg... just because they are dumb...

but yes, everything in our school is gang related too... there are NO gangs in Canton, SD! NONE! I swear!

We can't gather in the library in the morning (even though I am on AD and we just do anyways... becuase the librarian is the coach and we just talk about nerd stuff...) but we aren't supposed to because they are gay...

hmm...our school has a handbook, but hardly any of the rules are followed. the dress code is abused horribly. we aren't supposed to wear tank tops/spagetti straps/slippers, but yet girls come in wearing only a wife beater, bra (which you can see through the wife beater), and guy boxer shorts. nobody cares. our school bought laptops this past year. you are supposed to be able to use them during seminar/study hall, but you seldom can. hmm..what else. we don't really have any lunch rules, except that the vending machines are on a timer and they shut off between 11 and 1. you can go outside, but you aren't supposed to go to your car. kids do anyway and smoke. you can't go into the gym until school starts. you aren't supposed to be in the hallways during lunch, just the commons area. the library is closed during homeroom. i'm sure i'll think of some more later.

NO CELL PHONES. PERIOD. You cant even use your cell phone in between classes or at lunch. Another really dumb rule is that at our "seminar" which is practically a 15 minute free period for meetings or such no one can be in the hallways.. you have to be in a classroom

Heh, when I first went into high school at the speech at the beginning of the year, they made it pretty clear that there are two rules that are strictly enforced: No dirty dancing, and no sex in your cars. That was silly.

The stupidest rules (which only lasted a couple days)) were the result of some stupid corny "gang". They live in the most cheerful little town (despite its tiny size, it has two elementary schools in it) and they thought they were tough. Anyway, their thing was that they all wore brown bandanas.

The school suddenly outlawed bandanas. The next day, all the "gang" members wore brown shirts to school. The school banned brown shirts. The following day, they all wore red shirts. The school gave up. The end.

No jackets in school. Even when the heating breaks. Um, hello, it's freaking Alaska. It gets cold when we have no heat.
