I've been getting acne on my arms for a little over a year. Not the upper arms, becuase i've been getting acne on my upper arm (above the elbow to the shoulder/neck region) for about 5 years now, but thats not REALLY the place im worried. My lower arms (below the elbow) have a few scars as a result of the acne. Now, every time I drink a pepsi or have some chocolate or something with a lot of sugar in it, i will get acne there for some reason. I havent tried to pop them because i know that if i pop them (even the whiteheads and especially the red ones) i know that they will scar. Is there some kind of medicine to help clear them up? I've tried a ton of stuff I bought from walmart, I've tried washing them way all the time and other things.

The only real thing that seems to prevent them are drinking a lot of water every day, and dont have any pop or anything with sugar in it (snapple, gatorade is questionable, no candy bars, fast food is bad). There's probably a lot of threads like this, but I would like to start my own so I dont ask these questions on any other thread. So, is there a good, effective medicine to take? I've got these tablets from the drug store, and i go to a dermatologist in a few days but still, I dont want acne anymore and am tired of it.

well how can we help anymore than your derma?

i dont really know if the derma can help me a lot. i mean, my mom thinks that all the derma is gonna tell me is to stay away from the bad stuff and drink lots of water and stuff like that. she thinks all hes gonna do is tell me stuff like that and not give me any meds for the acne. so i want a good back up plan. Im also tired of these freaking scars on my arms. i dont have a whole ton of them, but about a year and a half ago, my arms were clean as anything. So any medicine or treatments getting rid of these scars and acne will be really good to have.

Maybe try going to the dermatologist (sp) and see what they say. It sounds like you know what the problem is- sugar. So maybe by elliminating that it will solve the problem.
