Charlie and the Chocolate Factory!!
Ok I saw Charlie and the Chocolate factory on Friday and again on Saturday. I have always been in love with the first movie, but I have to say they actually made the re-make better! Willy Wonka has so much more character in this one than the other. And the storyline was more clear. Do you agree/disagree? Why?
What was your favourite part? What disappointed you?
My favourite part was how they elaborated about Willy Wonka's life and extended the end of it more. And the songs, they managed to get rap, hip hop, pop and rock and roll in there. And synchronized swimming
I was disappointed by the tunnel scene, that was my favourite scene in the old movie because of the creepy song. But Willy Wonka doesn't sing in this one! And I was also disappointed by the fact that the Oompa Loompa's weren't orange with green hair, they were like natives (and that they were all played by one person).
Here's a movie review about it: http://entertainment.sympatico.msn.c...s/1240332.armx

I loved it WAY better then the first one. My favorite line was when they walked into the room and Willy Wonka goes "Everything in this room is etible (sp?) even me. But children this is what we call canibilism which is frowned upon in most society's" I was cracking up so hard. And the parents were just sitting there with this look.
I was dissapointed with the way the gobstoppers looked. They were just a ball, to plain.

Was there a scene where Willy Wonka (current one) walk into the camera and fell over? I was just asking.

Yeah the glass elevator thing was soo funny-- It never got old even after seeing it 4 times! And some of the things he says are just so random and hilarious, like the cannabalism thing. And the way he phrases things like saying "eatable" instead of "edible" it just gives it childlike charm.

I'm sure in the time that you wrote that you could have written a good paragraph normally. You're not cool.

I was laughing so hard when that happened. And he's all like I should really pay attention to where I park this thing.

I LOVED it! I thought it was waaaaay better than the Wilder version...I thought the ending was even better than the book. I liked how they extended it, and explained more of the backstory with Wonka. Yea, basically what everyone else has said. I thought the scenes where he ran into the elevator were HILARIOUS!! I also thougt that it was really funny when he kept telling Mike Teavee to stop mumbling...hahaha. I liked the canaballism thing too! Yea, I could go on and on about it...I thought it was wonderful. They did a great job...little Freddie Highmore was amazing! He's really something.

oh man it was so great. Johnny Depp was the best... i loved it when the kids were like tell him their names and he was like "Yeah, i dont care," it that voice. man i wanna go see it again with my friend. I love Tim Burton films tho... i read that johnny depp came up with the whole willy wonka character look.. the teeth and stuff... i cant wait for Corpse Bride since johnny depp did a voice over for that movie....

I was dissapointed with it. It was supposed to be based on the book more but there where so many different things. And the Willy Wonka in the book and Johnny Depp's Willy Wonka were sooo different.

Same, I mean it wasn't the worst movie I've ever seen - I just didn't like it.
Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory had better sub-plots.
