People don't use the left lane. They sit in it even though there are 20 cars up their ass that want to pass - so if you're cruising in the left lane at about 100 mph on a day with moderate traffic then there is a 90% chance that you're going to have to slam on the breaks because someone insists on going 55 in the left lane. OR you're in the right lane, you want to pass, but the left lane is completely jammed up.
Then people start weaving in and out of lanes at 120, and they lose control of the car. That's how people die at high-speeds. Not doing the speed itself, but choosing to go 60 miles over the speed limit in the wrong place and at the wrong time.
But there is that rare occasion where there is no one on the road. Usually by me, it's late at night - and you've got to be careful speeding at night because there are usually policemen on the side of the road - and it's pretty hard to see them in the dark.

well then you have some really bad drivers and driving habits over there. over here our highways have 2 lanes for 1 direction and people never sit in left lane. Its used only for over taking only people that are constantly in left lane are ones that are doing at least 170-180kmh and those arnt really a big problem.
i guess we are lucky that here roads in the night are mostly empty and there isnt very much cops around. and if there are any they usually choose to be on the same old spot. so when you know spots and road there isn't much problem to speed around at night.
i agree that safety is on first place, i never speed when i know i cant pull it off safely

Yep, its only a 4 speed with 45hp and the aerodynamics of a barn so i was impressed. Speedo only reads to 120km/h. I tried to get a photo on my phone of 115k but by time i took the pic it had dropped to 105k. Sits on 85k fine.

I think the Amish would take offense to you not being fair to their barns.

That's the way it's supposed to be. If people realized that the traffic would flow so much better, and the roads would be a lot safer
Yes, we do have a lot of very incompetent drivers. Some highways over by me have 3 or 4 lanes, and people weave in and out of traffic like it's their fucking job.
You said that your speed limit was pretty high - but if you get caught speeding, how harsh is the penalty? I got my first traffic ticket EVER and my license was immediately taken away for 90 days

well penalty is quite harsh financially but it rarely hits you, to get your licence suspended you have to drive at least double of the speed limit, and then it has to pass the court, and if it sits on court for more then 2 years, penalty become invalid and you dont pay shit.
fines for speeding are usually up to $200 converted. but thing is we have fines for all other kinda of shit, so chances are you gonna get fined for some stupid thing but not for speeding. also there is chances you wont pay a thing if you ask for a court decision and if the case gets old (after 2 years).
so basiclly if they strike you, you are fucked, but there are chances you will dodge them

I was almost double the speed limit(which was 55mph) - so it's not like the suspension was undeserved.
That was about how much my ticket was too - but I heard that it's often much more expensive and the penalty can be harsher, depending on your attitude. I was trying hard to be charming, and I called him 'sir' every time I addressed him

Fastest I've ever driven was 137mph in a new Impala sport, the fastest I've been driven around in was 150 in a new EVO 10, that thing was fuckin slick. V-6 with a twin turbo, so much pull it will make you cream your pants

haha well being nice always helps, you can sometimes also talk your way out from ticket, or make it be much lower then usual.
btw 3 months suspension is minimum suspension you can get, at least over here, max is like 1 year, if you collect 10 negative points in 12 months. and i think you have to redo your driving exam then.
