Monster Orange Hair , HELP ;\

I wanted to dye my hair, all over.. lighter brown. It was dark brown so they said they couldnt do it any lighter without bleaching or stripping the colour off of it. She suggested highlights and I said okay, just like ones underneath the hair, but still visable. She showed me the colour and I agreed to it , it was a dark blonde/light brown colour. She ended up doing 'peek-a-boo' highlights ;\ , so I have two right beside my face, and one only on the right side of my hair, at the back, on the bottem so I cant wear my hair up without looking majorly stupid.

The colour ended out being orange. She bleached it then put the colour on. I absolutely hate it , it looks like Im ready for Halloween with almost black hair and orange-ish hair

What can I do to get rid of the orange? I want it to be noticeable still, saying as I wasted all that money, but I don't want it orange. I heard ash colours can cover up orange colours, anyone know if this is true? or could I do a deep red/auburn colour? Should I just do the chunks of highlights or should I do all over? help , please! I need it done tonight, because I am going to a party and don't want to look stupid lol..

thanks

Well it sounds like the person who did your hair didn't know what they were doing.
And I think by saying you wanted them underneath, you were wanting lowlights instead of highlights?
I would suggest just getting a box of hair dye that matches your hair color and dying your whole head. Then you'll be back to your original color, or at least close anyways.
And if you aren't completely satisfied with your "highlights" go back to the person who did it and tell them this wasn't what you wanted. Make sure to go back BEFORE you fix your hair though. Maybe they can refund you or give you a free cut or something.

Well if you want orangish hair to go blonde you need lilac toner to take out the orange tint. It would be an easy do it yourself jobbie.

And don't use that place again.

I hope she isn't a professional because if she is, she shouldn't be working. You can certainly go from dark brown to light brow without "bleaching" because permanent hair color lifts a couple of shades.

I suggest you just color your hair the color that you wanted. You can do it yourself or go to a stylist, but make sure you go to someone who knows what they're doing.

Use something with blue undertones.
A dark ash blond toner or something else "ashy"

Blue and orange are complimentary colors so they'll neutralize themselves for lack of a better word.

Ugh, this brings back horrible memories. I had black hair and wanted to go straight to blonde. [my natural hair color] I didn't realize how much that involved.. She bleached my hair like three times, my scalp was blistering by the end of it. The end result was disgusting, the woman called it sunburst, I looked like an effing pumpkin. I dyed it back two days later myself..

I also shelled out 100 bucks for that great experience. ._.

All of my hair turned orange once. I was too scared to dye it again, so I just kept it. If I were you I'd just dye it back to your natural color or something.

awh lol. Once you gone black there aint no going back!

By the way just be aware that if you have darker hair and then dye it to blonde and it goes orange so you dye it back to darker shade it has a possibility of going green....

yeh, thanks.
I ended up going with a ash brown colour. The orange pieces are now an ash blonde-ish/light brown colour. Its not that bad! Definatly won't go back to that hair salon again ;\

Actually, you can go back once you've dyed your hair black.
My natural hair color is light brown and I dyed it black (by mistake, thinking it was dark brown).
It looked horrible on me because I'm so pale and it washed me out.
My friend bought a color stripper, striped my hair of all color (it came out a bright orange) and then just dyed my hair a medium brown and it came out its natural color.
