And the way they're winning games reminds me a lot of the 02 buckeyes as well.

I am agreeing with this more and more.

I'll be pissed if South Florida hops back into the Top 25 just for beating us... >
They had a two-game losing streak.

AND it's not like beating WV is that much of a challenge.

I have never seen USC get dominated so badly before. It was beautiful.

Maybe now Boise State will receive the respect that it earned when it beat Oregon the first week of the season.
Nobody believed me when I said Oregon was going to clean up in the Pac-10 this year.
Also, I'm SO glad we got a glimpse today of the Florida team that's going to get us to the national championship. How fitting was it that Tebow broke Walker's TD record against Georgia in his hometown on a wide-open play on which he wasn't even touched?
You couldn't have scripted it any better than that.

IMO, the thrashing Oregon did of USC tonight has nothing to do with their loss to Boise and what not. They are a very different team than they were then, both physically and emotionally. Emotionally because they know that after that they have to work harder in order to turn their season around, and thus far they have. Physically, because they are a different make up now; no longer do they have Blount to knock people over (no pun intended) but rather a more shifty back.
Honestly, I think that if Boise played Oregon tomorrow it would be different. Sure, Boise is a good team, a solid team, but they shouldn't get more respect because a team they beat beat a really good team, nor should it qualify them for an automatic BCS bid, and I am hoping it doesn't.

Oklahoma State is just one of those teams that will never get over the hump. I compare them to the likes of West Virgina (who now is stuck at mediocre since Bitch Rod left), Ole Miss, Pittsburgh, Penn State and Cal. Some teams just get so hyped about being "underrated" that they suck.

Yeah, and I don't know if I'm still convinced that Texas is overrated still or not. They've had two road blowouts, but they were against a rebuilding Missouri team and an overrated OSU team.

I think they are still overrated. If they match up with Florida in the title game, the only chance they'll have to not get blown out is if Florida has a bad day on offense, in which case with Texas' defense they'll put up only 40 points. (My bad, they are inconsistent this year aren't they, OK, 30 points.)

Yeah, I mean, the defense had 2 int return TDs out of the 5 ints that they forced. If Texas would have any chance of winning the NC against either Florida or Alabama, then the Fl/Al offense has to have a bad day (like they both did last week).
What I hate most about the Texas win is that my bandwagoning cousin is going to try to boast it in my face that "his" team beat both OU and OSU and will try to argue with me about how its revenge from Texas getting "screwed" out of the BCS last year blah blah blah. Bandwagoners=fail.

All this game further does is show just how strong of a conference the Pac-10 is. Everyone wrote it off last year, especially when it went 1-7 against the Mountain West. But they came back in full force this year, winning nearly every major OOC matchup except Arizona-Iowa and Oregon-Boise. I'm very impressed with the West Coast this year.
IMO, your second paragraph is a moot point. It doesn't really matter whether Oregon would lose to Boise at this point in the season. The fact is; they beat them. That is ringing quite loud in the broncs favor right now, seeing as Oregon will be the probable champion of the strongest BCS conference this year. It's so hard to judge Boise though; watching them struggle against a terrible Tulsa team. I'm definitely interested in that Boise-Nevada matchup.

Overrated is the understatement regarding OSU. Let's not forget that they lost at home to one of the worst pass defense teams in the nation (Houston). With the sole exception of Texas, the Big 12 is absolute shit this season. I would probably rank it near the bottom of the BCS conferences. Hard to believe last year it was considered 2nd strongest.

I highly doubt that. Texas does have a very athletic defense, and while UT certainly didn't play any challenges in OOC games and has blown through (for the most part) a horrendous big 12 season, they could legitimately challenge Florida in the natty. Here's a good way to judge Texas though: Watch TCU play Wyoming in three weeks. If TCU struggles, it may indicate Texas is a real deal...if TCU puts on a better beatdown than the horns could achieve, it may indicate Texas is simply benefiting from a weak conference.

Oh yeah, top 10 after this week:
1. Florida (clearly dominant, finally. May not have the best SOS rating, but I can finally say that I would be afraid to play this team)
2. Alabama
3. Texas (still not proven in my opinion)
4. TCU
5. Iowa (How do you earn a top 5 ranking? Not by throwing 5 picks and somehow still winning by 2 touchdowns. Things like Indiana's ineptitude do make me wonder how bad the Big 10 is)
6. Boise
7. Cincy
8. Oregon
9. LSU (A win this weekend would certainly be a boost)
10. Georgia Tech
Just outside: Penn State, Pitt, Utah

Florida and Bama may be the best two teams, unfortunately only one will be able to make it the NC game. Thank god for conference championship games.
Texas will remain unproven, which is why it would be a pitty if they make the championship game. The Big-12 is extremely weak this year.

I was thinking more of: without Bitch Rod, who managed to get them in winning situations before choking. Stewart has made them mediocre and about at #30-#23 each year.

Iowa is playing NU. Stanzi started great, then went all shitty, then got injured and his backup threw a pick.
And yes, since OSU has no chance at a National Championship bid, I am routing for Iowa to make it. (Of course, when they match up with OSU I will still be wearing scarlet and gray.)

Finally, FINALLY Iowa lost.
It's about Goddamn time.
On a separate note, the advantage of having your team be #1 in the country is that every single game is a national broadcast.
