Default Education Majors

What made you decide to major in education?

What specifically do you want to teach?

Since 3rd grade I've wanted to be a teacher. I've had great teachers who loved their jobs, and I wanted to be that same person.

I want to teach High School English. I've had great English teachers my entire life and seeing how much they loved the subject and how they were able to transfer that love of the subject into me and my fellow students. I want to be that kind of teacher. One that can encourage the students and make English interesting to them.

I am in school to teach 3rd grade. I ultimately will probably end up teaching HS somewhere down the line, but I want to see how I like early education first. I have always wanted to be a teacher. I remember making my little brother sit down and learn whatever I had learned in school that day. He hated me for it, but I loved it.

If I taught HS it would be History. There are so many boring HS History teachers and it should be an awesome subject to teach, one you can have so much fun in. =]

Eyes Inspirationnnn.

I've always been easily inspired by teachers.
I think they are some of the most interesting people.

I'm aiming to teach high school English as well.
It's the subject I'm best at.
Plus, my past mentor is an English teacher.
She was mine for about 2 years.

I like the idea of inspiring young people to do better with their life.

& those Education classes seem interesting.

It's amazing what a little bit of motivation will take you.
Or a lot in my case.

Where I see myself in about four years is really a great place.
The idea of teaching is just.. really great, lol.

I'm excited.

I want to major in special education with a focus in Autism.
If that doesn't work out then teaching pre-k like I am doing now would be ok with me

I don't see myself doing anything else but working with kids.

I agree. I can't wait until I have my own classroom and I'm actually doing something I love as opposed to now where I have a job I hate. I only have 2 1/2 more years, but I can't wait.

It's good to see a number of teens here interested in teaching - a career that I believe is one of most under-rated in the Western world and also one of smallest paid professions.
Teachers are responsible for the future generation of their countries and without the workload and expectations that they place on their students, the future of society is without knowledge & education but also without boundaries and discipline.

I commend you all for seriously considering teaching as a profession and wish you all the very best in your endeavour.

Sincere Regards.

I decided to become a teacher not just to teach teens but really impact their lives. I don't think there are many gay teachers so i can really help those that are having trouble with their sexuality and i have also been through a lot with my family being full of drug addicts and abuse family members so i just wanna be there just like i am glad some of my teachers are there for me.

I wanna teach high school physics

I want to be a 3rd grade teacher so that I can work with people on the same maturity level as I am.

I'm wanting to be a high school English teacher. Probably 9th and 10th grade, if I can get those grades.
I've known I wanted to be a teacher since I was in the 4th grade. My elementary school teachers were amazing and they showed me what kind of passion teaching required.
By the time I was in 7th or 8th grade I knew I wanted to teach English, but I was never sure what level.
As I reached high school and began to experience high school English, I knew thats what I wanted to teach.

no offense but you really don't even need to major in teaching as an undergrad to be a teacher. especially if you want to be a college teacher. it's just a waste of time.
