Just finished up reading The Summoning and The Awakening by Kelly Armstrong. I actually ended up liking it more than I thought I would. I am now waiting for the third book to come out which isn't until May 2010 :[

Frankenstein, In Cold Blood. They're for English, though, so they don't count.
As for interest-based reading, Woman in White, by Wilkie Collins.

i read that earlier this year. it was good. i like the true blood series and the vampire diaries series and the vampire acadamy series as well. im more of a writer than a reader though. most of the vampire/supernatural books inspire me. you would probably love the house of night series if you liked thirst.
note: sorry but i dont remember who wrote any of these.

Lucifer's Hammer- Larry Niven & Journey Pournelle
Decent enough sci-fi so far.
Also just finished Hyperion and the Fall of Hyperion by Dan Simmons. Best sci-fi I've ever read.
