i exult in my victory over him
he frays to the very extremity, until we can take no more
i retort to avoid conflict,
but manage to clash with his inconsistencies daily
would you believe me if i said that this was our routine?
we move in different directions,
though we've come from the same origin
this divergence between us is what makes us so special
we evolved from the same world and we strive
for our definition of the meaning of life
though neither of us struggle for this prize
we simply work against one another
in hopes of something more out of life
than this routine
