I absolutely love this movie, also. Many people around here don't like it at all, but I could watch it a million times and still not be bored with it...
I need to get the DVD.. the deleted scenes clear up a lot of confusion, or at least they did for me.. and adds a lot more interesting subjects..
If you only end up watching it once you don't get the full effect, at all.. you have to be able to realize some things and make connections..
I'm just chattering on and on about it, but I love it, I apologize :)

Just seen this thread, i love Donnie Darko

My Story: Me and a mate were bored so thought we'd go to the movies, it was either Donnie Darko or the sweetest thing, didn't want to see a chick flick and expected Donnie Darko to be about a disgruntled Black man called Donnie.... I left the cinima and when i got home bought the dvd from the internet. i love it!!!

Is anyone else madly in love with "mad world" by Gary Jules? (Plays at the end of the movie).... also bought his two albums :P

Mad World is one of the best songs i've ever heard

Donnie Darko isn't that good. The beginning had a cool landscape as background. Props for the visuals. There were also some interesting psychological type of scenes, but I still didn't like it that much.

Sweet Jumping Chili Bean! Donnie Darko kicks ass! I thought Donnie was hot. My op anyways... The dvd is okay. The sound track to the movie is okay, but not my fav. music-but was good for the movie anyways. Meh*

I LOVE Donnie Darko I got it the first day it came out! It was never in theater;s was it? I think it's a shame it wasn't very famour it has a lot of famous peole in it, drew barrymore, noah wyle, Jake Gyllenhall and so on. . .

DONNIE DARKO ROCKS! I love that film. I wasn't keen on it at first, but i really like it now. Everyone that stars in it rocks and there's never a dull moment. The films a bit creepy too

Graham Green's "The Destructors"

I loved this movie, then I liked it...now its average... why? Because all these other ****s are making it into a cult film and that is not cool. And then the whole idea of there being a god in the end kinda just disappoints me.

J'adore Donnie Darko. It confused me slightly but it's great.

Maybe someone already mentioned this, and i just missed it, but did you guys know that the movie is going to be Re-Realed? Yea, I heard they're going to release a directors-cut to theaters. it's going to have 25 more minutes, and this will change a lot of the story. for those of you who have checked out the deleted scenes on the dvd, you'll prolly see that there's a whole other realm of this movie.

It's about a guy who has hallucinations and is on medicine, anyways he sees this bunny Frank, Frank tells him all this stuff like when the wolr di going to end and then Donnie starts doing things that Frank says and then he gets into time portals and reverses everything to make it better its really wierd I can't remember that much out of it but it is an AWESOME movie I love Grandma Death lol

I watched the film for the first time last night and was about to post a topic about it until I found this one.

Would someone be so kind as to explain it to me, 'cause I'm really confused.

After thinking about it, the story seems to have massive holes in, Frank's evil furry spirit comes back to warn donnie. But Frank would never appear as a traveller of the "fourth dimension" if he had not died. Hes just an ordinary joe. So if donnie was not "saved" by frank then he(Donnie) would die due to the jet engine. But hold on, then Frank would not have been killed by Donnie and couldnt warn Donnie of the jet engine. So either way the jet engine would fall and kill Donnie. But then again the jet engine would not have entered the portal if Donnie didnt open the portal at the right time.

Please can someone help me?!! It's driving me crazy!
