Was it just me.. or did any body else watch that movie and find it incredibly random?

I don't know if you read the book or not but if not then I can understand how you found it incredibly random. There was a whole lot that was left out of the movie that is explained in the book. Then again, if they didn't leave anything out it would probably be just as long as "It."

The book was just as random.

I didn't really think the book was random. I thought it was really good actually. A lot better than the movie but then again, books are almost always better than the movie.

I've always liked Stephen King. It's just fun stuff. Mildly scary, usually, and easy to read. Just fun.
But when did he stop caring? I mean, really. Somehow he managed to interweave British extraterrestrials, poop worms, flatulence-inducing chestbursters, and mentally retarded psychics into one film.
I bought the book because I'm holding out hope that it will redeem itself. But that movie was like scrubbing your brain with a brillo pad: painful, and- well, painful.

True. That movie wasn't good mainly because the plot was just too alienated from itself.

I read the book, and it won't leave you as confused as the movie might have. However, I don't think it is one of King's best efforts, but I can understand that since he was in the hospital when he started writing it, and therefore, the beginning of the book wasn't as attractive as it could have been. As you go further in the book, events become slightly more interesting and certain concepts combined with King's loved-by-most style do make it worth reading.

I found it somewhat amusing that the title he had thought of first was "Cancer." I believe that explains the negativism one encounters through at least half the book (hospitals can be depressing). All and all, kudos to King's wife.

I was not aware of this.

I started the book last night...it's not bad, really. Better than the film, at least.
