This is a poem I wrote for my English 9 class. Any critique would be appreciated. I really haven't written much poetry before, so i apologize in advance for the torture you are about to go through!!!!!!!!

A Poem For You
7:00 a.m. the buzzer sounds
Bright eyed and ready to go from bed I bound

I start the routine that has become the norm
The normalcy of everyday that keeps me warm

I have every quality of a very happy girl
But in my head that image takes a whirl.

My life is not as simple as it may seem
At times, when things get really bad, I just want to scream

And you, you're the supposed strong one
Someone with whom you can always have fun

But that is not the complete and entire truth is it?
You know you can't hide the truth behind charm and wit

Not when the truth is something so painful
Twisting and turning your soul until your emotions become dull

I wish that I could tell you I know exactly how you feel
For we are going through the exact same deal

Both of us are searching for that special someone
Neither willing to give in until that task is done.

You smile and tell me that love is not far away
That I'll find it if I just go day by day

I smile, close my eyes and take a deep breath
For this secret that I have I'll probably keep until death

For, you see, my search was over a long while ago
I have found the person that I long for I know.

This may come as a surprise
But now I'm going to come clean and stop the lies

It's not someone else that I'm looking for.
The person I need is staring back at me from my front door

Can't you see by now?
You are the one that makes me say "wow"

I think that if you searched deep down you can find it too.
And you could feel what I feel for you

But I can't make you love me
Why is this how it has to be?

But you have made you decision
And I'm not the one in the vision

So goodnight, I will see you in my dreams
For as of now that is the only way I'll get to be with you it seems.

Sounds like it would make a good song.
