I have very thin hair, and I will admit that in the past I did not take care of it at all. It's extremely damaged, dry, and frizzy, and no matter how many different products I try I can't seem to find one that works very well. I leave my conditioner in my hair for about 3 minutes everytime I shower and deep condition my hair at least once a week, if not more. I use Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine, which is designed for damaged and frizzy hair, but I don't notice much of a difference.

If there's any product... anything at all, I'm so desperate at this point... that anyone has ever used that you think could help, I'd appreciate it if you told me. Thanks in advance. :P

I love Garnier Fructis. They have a great 3-minute conditioner that helps -- I know you said you leave the regular conditioner in for 3 minutes anyways, but this is `special`. And there's leave-in Sleek & Shine product you can buy that leaves it really nice. I had the same problem for a while, except my hair is thick.

Dry and overly damaged hair just needs to be cut off a bit, there really isnt anything you can do to salvage/repair it if its gone through alot. The best thing you could do would be to probably get a hair cut that at least got rid of all your dead ends. As for products pantene or paul mitchelle (sp?) are both great. If your hair is excessivly dry then there is nothing wrong with deep condiontioning everyday until it starts to get heathier. Taking a day off from just plain washing your hair during the week is good for it to. Your own natural oils are really good for your hair so washing it excessivly and not taking a day here and there to let it get dirty can make it drier. Also avoid blow drying, if you have to blowdry your hair do it on cool but its best to towl dry it & then let your hair dry naturally. Curling irons also frizz/dry out your hair so if you lilke curls try taking a shower at night & using roller instead of a curling iron. After awhile those and straightners can do some serious damage.

I personally hate garnier products. They leave my hair staticy and frizzy, my hair is long and thin so that may be why heh.

I use anything by TGI/Catwalk. Their products are incredible and any salon near you would have their stuff. :)

I use the TGI Bed head products. I love them! They have one called Moisture Maniac thats made for people with dry hair. Its not cheap, but it is really good!

i use redken outshine for frizz.. it works really good.. its defrizzes and makes your hair shiney put it on before you dry your hair(just a little) and then again after you style it.. as for the damaged part go to your salon and get a haircut that will get all the split/dead ends off and gives you something new to work with... if the damage shampoo you use doesnt work.. try a new one.. pantene pro-v or redken and TGI are good ones

Yeah, I use their 3-minute deep conditioner, too. :) As for the Sleek & Shine leave-in... is that the clear stuff in the round bottle? It's anti-frizz, correct?

Whoa, thanks for the advice. I'm planning on getting it trimmed/cut very soon... again. *sigh* I only wash my hair every other day, and I basically never straighten it or blow dry it or use any type of heating products on it.

I used to iron my hair every day and I fucked it up SO bad it's still kinda slipt ended and breaking off but I use k-pak stuff it's kind of expensive but they use it in hair salones and shit and it works pretty good, u can get it at drug stores or hair supply stores

I had the same problem (but with thick hair, imagine my fuzzball head, lol) FizzEase (step 1 - shampoo, step 2 - conditioner, step 3- serum, step 4 - styling product) seemed to work wonders on my hair. My hairs really healthy now.

I also get a deep conditioning treatment at my hair salon once every two-three months (it's just under $20 CDN).

Good luck Sara. :)

Call a local salon and get the good stuff, something you cant get off a grocery store shelf. I know that may sound like im "high class" but if u want the shit that works, your gonna have to fork out the dough.

I use biosilk, it's pretty expensive but it works FANTASTIC. I put about a quarter sized amount in every day and then straighten my hair a tiny bit and it locks in the moisture. It gets the frizzyness out and leaves it feeling really silky.

I use Herbal Essences and it works pretty good...Don't use Garnier Fructis because that stuff is awful. During the summers or on weekends (if you aren't going anywhere) don't do anything to your hair. It worked for me when I did that this summer.

Try Paul Mitchelle leave in conditioner, it leaves your hair with a greasy feel until washing it out, but renews it like magic! :)

My hair was a huge frizz ball and still is to an extant. Mine was from when I had a perm, and would straighten it everyday and bush it when your suppose to use a pick.

That was a while ago, and the perm is mostly grown out now.But ive still got frizz. The best thing ive found to use has been Aussie 3 minute miracle. You can get it in original and extra deep. Also if you just want to try it, most of the walmarts ive been to have the sample packet for 88 cents each, you can usaully get 2 washes out of a packet.

Also a spray leave-in conditioner has helped, I use John Frieda Frizz-Ease spray-in daily nourishing.

i still straighten it a bunch, but i protect it alot more now, and as far as i can tell its not too damaging. i use pantene conditioners and moisture treatments. i also use aussie, basically whatever is conditioning. then when i get out of the shower, i use some pantene mousse, so its not frizzy. i use this BIOSILK "silk therapy" serum that makes your hair realllly silky. then, i use this redken spray in hair protector. i also use this aussie leave-in-conditioner. (thats all when my hair is wet) when it dries, i use Matrix "sleek" something..its a spray you spray in before you straighten your hair to protect it.

as you can see, i use alot of caution now. it seems to work, so i would def say its worth it!! good luck to you <3

brush your hair as often as possible.
it distrubutes your natural oils down the length of your hair.

well then just brush twice a day.

plus i would think that depends on how knotty your hair is and how gentle you are.

I agree with aztec....It does help to make your hair healthier....

I can't believe noone has mentioned DOVE products....They have the BEST shampoo and conditioner. I have used them for YEARS and I have NEVER met anyone with hair as soft or shiny as mine (not to be consided...(SP**) thats not how I ment it)...My hair is SUPER long, so yeah, Dove works wonders...my hair is also thin and doesn't hold smell very well...with dove...people compliment me on how my hair smells ALL THE TIME. You should serisouly try it. I live and die by that stuff!

oh i never brush my hair. maybe that's part of my problem.

do you people blow dry your hair or what?

i'm having serious issues with my hair lately.. i feel like i can't do anything with it other than tie it up, and so i've been contemplating cutting it shortish.

for variety, try curling tongs, or straighteners, or sleeping with your hair in plaits, or something.

i used to blow dry my hair basically every day, but i changed my ways when i realised how bad that is for hair.. i usually sleep with it wet because i'm lazy and then worry about doing something to make it presentable in the morning.
i don't brush my hair either, except occasionally before i wash it. ;p it is a good thing to do, i'm just not in the habit.

i think i'll try dove.. i use the body wash and that's great.
