If someone was going scene, and they pulled off piercings well, but their parents wont let them have the piercings... would fake piercings put one in the poseur category?

I believe one who pretends to be something one is not is posing. If one identifies with a clique, and fashions oneself to its standard as best one can in accordance with one's personal style - then no - not a candidate for a faker. If piercings are dictated by the style/clique, yet one cannot wear pierced jewelery (due to medical, parental, religious, or other legitimate reason beyond one's control), though still earnestly identifies oneself with the clique/group, then, for that reason, one is still not a poser.

SCENE KIDS DO NOT CALL THEMSELVES SCENE KIDS CUZ Y'KNOW THEY ARE SOSOSOSOSOS ORIGINAL THEY THEREFOR DO NOT EXIST

fake things make one fake... which means they are not true which means they are posing as something they are not

Wanting to be scene kind of already makes you a poser, in my opinion.
So, yes, what the two others above me said.

Shit I pierced my lip and my parents don't even know. If you want something, do it even if they say no. Just don't use a safety pin.

I can't tell anyone how to live their life, but do be cautious about self/at-home piercings; have it done professionally (if parental consent is required, I'm sure a means can be found around it). If one is going to rebel, one can do so employing commonsense and with self-preservation in mind.

Wasn't 'till after I just re-read that post did I realize I told them to do it.
NEVER pierce yourself. I was lucky and mine hardly got infected, but you never know what could happen to you.
Also, my parents just happen to not notice things, and so far I've had mine a month and gotten away with it by taking the ring out when near them, but this too causes infection.

So yea, don't do what I did.
I know this one person who almost died from a bloodstream infection after doing their own lip.

Always be careful with piercings.

I'm sorry but wearing fake piercings is as bad as tattoo transfers.... Get them done legit or stop posing. You dont need mod's to be a certain style but it is more of a commitment to it. If you are told you are not that fashion til you have the mod's then the person telling you is a poser.

why does it matter if ur a scene or wutevr? if u genuinely like the piercing and believe they would enhance ur image, then who cares. so long as ur not the type to be like, oh today i look scene, oh today im a pro-wrestler, lmfao.
people who change "styles" *ahem, followers* CONSTANTLY should NOT get perm. work done.
do i think u should wear the fakeys out? no.
wear them around the house so maybe ur parents'll get use to them and not mind the idea so much.
wearing fakeys out just implies that ur doing it for attention

Yes, it would make people think you're faking the scene look, no, you wouldn't really be, but yes, wearing fake piercings is pretty gay anyway.

fake = fake?
I don't know. Guess its your choice. I know parents won't agree to piercings but can always wait till you move out, etc.

It's aesthetic, and having punctures through your skin isn't part of the scene style. Though the over zealous defenders of Scenedom would probably start calling this person a poser, in reality it's no different from hair extentions.
