of course they don't hurt. why would stabbing someone with a needle over and over and over and over hurt?

nope, its pretty much like getting your face painted.
..while getting stabbed with a needle hundreds of times per minute for likely an hour or so.

First, let me say that everyone's pain tolerance is different.
Second, yes, it'll hurt.
How much depends on you personally, but you're getting jabbed with about three or four needles at once, rapidly.
I'm also terrified of needles.
I've got an 8x5 inch tattoo on my calf and I'll be going back for a second in the fall.
If you really want one, get it.
Don't let the pain stop you.

It's different for everyone but I almost guarentee everyone thinks its hurts somewhat
Id give a 4 or 5 for pain, and I have an average pain tolerance. I dont think its the worst pain ever but its unpleasant

Meh, to each their own.
I'm curious as to how one could make such a wild conclusion knowing nothing but the size, but whatever.
Perhaps you just don't like large tattoos?

I don't like tattoos in that area on females (you are female, right?).

Yes, yes I am.
And I guess that makes sense.

I guess it's because I have seen tattoos in that area on too many ugly butch lesbians and not one on a hot girl.

Well of course they hurt. How much depends on where the tattoo is being done and your pain tolerance.
The great thing about tattoos is that you don't ever really see much of the needle, so you don't have to think about it like a needle. Just think of it as a machine that pushes ink under your skin.

Yes, because the attractiveness of the woman has anything to do with the quality of the artwork
Seriously, what a stupid statement to make.

Actually, I was just stating that I now associate those tattoos with ugly butch dykes.
I think they're ugly. The association is probably the reason.

I see....how strange. Perhaps you should look at all tattoos like art work. If you respect them as art you're less likely to make associations about them.

No.
No.
These tattoos that I saw were not artwork of any kind!
Most of them were just generic looking and crappy.
Plus, I just don't think tattoos, no matter how lovely or amazing they are, look good on certain areas of the body.
The calf of a female is one of those places.

It depends on areas you get it done, how big, how much detail and how many needles are going into you. If you want a big one with lots of shading and detail on a place known for hurting to get inked - yes it will hurt. If you get something small and simple in one of the easy areas then not so much. There are a group of areas known for being easy to handle for sissy types - most posers have just those areas done. If like me you get something in areas that are tender then concentrate on your breathing as you do it and zone out to the music- bowie is great for that. As for the other things in this thread.... It is right you hardly see the needles as they are going 300 to 500 times a second into your skin and only the tip is seen at best. And as for the idiot saying places dont look good, you need a slap with a paving slab! It depends on the tattoo and the quality of said tattoo and the person it is on and the meaning of the tattoo. You can never say a generic phrase about tattoo's unless it is about the generic off the wall standard ones.

If you question getting it because of the pain then you will regret getting it done. The pain is a very, VERY short negative compared to the life long positive you get.

Your question was a dumbass question.
Any moron would know the answer to that.
Should you still get one?
How the fuck should I know the answer to that question, retard?
I can't answer that only you can.
Do they hurt?
No shit!
Also, it's supposed, not suppost. Suppost is not a word.

Yes they hurt.
Look away from the needles.
They're like sewing needles, not dentist needles.

On my thumb and up wrist felt like the tingle of nettles, on my forearm and biceps so far only a small tingle at worst. Near my elbow was just odd feel of vibrations in bones. Stomach was a warm tingle. Front side of neck was the worst for pain but even that wasn't worse then a warm sting like feel once it had been going for more then 5mins. If the pain is scaring you get it on upper arm on the outer part or shoulderblade area. Though all the people i know with head tattoo's say they are the easiest for pain - but i will vouch for that in a month or two when the stars are on the head, til then i can only go by being told it is like a massage Haha
