Thank you for the Anna Rice recommendation. Interview with a vampire looks ver-a good.

Anyone else?

The Stranger by Albert Camus.

I read it in my French class, except I read the French version, obviously.

I guess the English translation is really good too, so I've heard.

You've got some really quality books there! I personally really enjoy John Steinbeck.

I would recommend The Alchemyst, by Michael Scott. It's the first in a series (the third book just came out, so you're not that far behind), and it's got this online game (http://www.alchemystgame.com) you can play as an accomplice to the reading. Enjoy!

i've got one i wouldn't recomend... Don't even bother reading twilight ok... it sucked, they changed to much about the vampires pros and cons for it to be even remotely good. that and the fact it was to fruity, to much romance for my taste.

heres a good idea, try reading some of the old dragon riders.

hey I second the motion for The Stranger by Albert Camus, Cirque Du Freak, and Jane Austen. Plus I recommend Water For Elephants can't remember the author right now, The book of Lost Things by John Connolly, and anything by Christopher Moore

I would have to agree. Twilight is good if you know what you're getting into and don't have very high expectations or standards....which I would hope you do have. In terms of Literature in general, these are kind of garbage. Read any one of these books (http://www.scifimoviepage.com/upcoming/previews/fantasymovies.html), they're all slated to be made into movies soon, so you can still enjoy all the Twilight-esque excitement only with better source material.

Yes, that is my favorite book. (Although, I must point out that she no longer writes about vampire and witches. So if you get hooked like most Anne Rice fans, it's a little disapointing to know there won't be anymore, ever.)

And I second White Oleander. Great book and movie. (I love the mom)

Keeping you a secret, Hard Love, and Luna are great books as well.

WHITE OLEANDER- Michelle Pfieffer. Yeah that was great

MY SISTERS KEEPER with Abigail Breslin and Cameron Diaz is coming out. I never read the book but I heard it was fantastic. Anyone gonna see the movie?

Cirque du Freak (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0450405/) is also in production....looks like a pretty sweet cast for any fans of the book.

Cirque du Freak is a very easy and simple read. but the plot is amazing.
I didn't exactly like Interview with a Vampire, I just found it a grueling read. too much going on, I guess.

BLOODY JACK ADVENTURES, it's my second favorite series (HP being first)
the Pendragon Adventure, 3rd fav series
Peter and the Starcatchers, 4th fav series
Pirates!
The Perks of Being a Wallflower
Everything is Illuminated
Memoirs of a Geisha, it was very pretty.

I see that you enjoyed 'Silence of the Lambs', so here are some excellent crime thrillers to consider reading:

- The Kay Scarpetta Series of books by Patricia Cornwell (www.patriciacornwell.com)
- Blindsighted, Kisscut, Indelible, Faithless, Beyond Reach, Triptych, etc - Karin Slaughter
- The Surgeon, The Apprentice, Body Double, Vanish, The Mephisto Club - Tess Gerritsen

I personally recommend:

+ Postmortem, From Potters Field by Patricia Cornwell
+ Blindsighted, Kisscut, Triptych by Karin Slaughter
+ Vanish, The Surgeon by Tess Gerritsen

Some of the earlier James Patterson books such as 'Kiss the Girls' are excellent serial-killer novels. I also recommend Jeffery Deaver's Lincoln Rhymes series. Another favorite of mine is the Tony Hill/Carol Jordan crime series by Val McDermid - it is a bestselling British crime series, but I assure you it is fantastic!

Happy Reading :)
