i know!! i can't wait! if i were to get those at a shop it would cost me over 600 dolars, but i think he's charging justin like 50 for everything so it's pretty sweet. it just stinks i have to wait till im 18, he could get in a lottt of trouble if i didnt.

All I have to say is good luck with the spiral. Cartilage is already a bitch to heal let alone all those holes at once. You're probably going to have a hard time finding jewelry for it and will have to have something custom made.
So you're going to get an industrial on one ear and the spiral on the other? How are you going to sleep? Unless you want to sleep flat on your back I'd suggest holding off on one as both are hard to heal without all the trauma that sleeping on them is going to cause.

What kind of shop were you planning on going to? No way it would cost that much. I figure around $75 each for the ear piercings and $50 or so for the nose and belly.

nah sleeping on an industrial shouldnt be bad at all. the spiral will be a bitch but it's almost exactly as if you were just getting three regular piercings up there at once. spirals arent really hard to find at all, he already ordered one for me.

pshh are you kidding?? a spiral costs about 160 easy, an industrial about 120, belly button is about 70 and nose is about 80. i may have exaggerated a bit but it's still ridic expensive.

My healed industrial is still a bitch to sleep on.
It bled when it was new, now I just get a sore ear.
Its harder than you think....
I'd hold off on the spiral.
It'll need all the help healing that it can.
And if unless your bfs cousin disowns him... he should still do it cheap for you. Once the rest have healed.
And I have no comment on prices, I have no clue.

Guys ever see that study about the navel piercings that caused infections under the skin in the uterus and they had to be removed? nasty stuff.
I really wouldn't recommend getting the pierced all at once. The general rule is only have 3 holes healing at once, and both the spiral and industrial will be bitches to heal.
But good luck with them anyway =)

It pays to get better though. I got three holes in my lobes in November, one set in gold and the other two were titanium. Well the four titanium holes fucked up majorly, I've had to let the third on each ear close up cs they were literally squirting pus. Now I've put gold into the second ones, and they're fine.
Also I got two cartiledge, both in gold, they're fine. . .and it never hurt to sleep on at all :S
hurts like a BITCH if u catch it when ur brushing your hair though. OUCH.

Ive been to lots of places that do tattoos and piercings and they all seem to be about 40 for the nose, 50 for the belly button, and 70 for the different ear cartilage ones
I got just a plain one hole stud piercing in each cartilage once and it was the worst thing i've ever felt, I couldn't sleep and I ended up having to take them out it hurt so bad. You should really only get one and let it get comfortable and then get the second one.

That's some awesome annecdotal evidence alright, however it really means nothing on account of it being annecdotal evidence and all. There are millions of reasons your piercings can get infected and it's pretty silly to blame this on the material.

yeah i had two before, i pierced them myself. it did feel like a bruise for a while but i had to get a bunch of MRI's done so i had to take them out it healed in like an hour so i never re-did it.
God damn that's still incredibly expensive. Even with titanium jewelry that's more expensive than it'd cost at a nice high quality place in AU$ over here.
I would only get the HIGHEST quality metal over here and it costs money just to go to a reputable shop. my friend just got that spiral and it cost 140
Yeah, I think the shops where she lives must completely rip people off.

haha i'll be careful of that! im also buying a case of H2Ocean which is like the BEST stuff to keep from getting an infection. it's expensive as hell, even wholesale (retail it's about 14 bucks a can which lasts a week for 2 piercings) but it's definately worth it cause it works with your natural body chemistry to keep it from rejecting the piercing and disinfects it from getting bacteria. other piercing stuff just kills the bacteria.

Millions of people get their belly button done per year and probably not even 1 per year get an infection so bad that they can no longer have children. If any. Take care of your piercings and if it gets bad see a doctor and you won't have to worry.
yeah you guys are totally right, im gonna hold of on one of those ear piercings, it'll be too hard to deal with and im the biggest pussy in the world lol
Hold off on both if you don't like the idea of infections. It's better to be safe than sorry and human bodies aren't designed to have piercings at all let alone having to deal with six at once.

There's the HIGHEST quality metal and then there's the HIGHEST quality metal which is imported from France and is encrusted with 18ct diamonds, from a place which is an absofuckinglute rip off.

You're getting mutiple cartiledges at once HAHHAHAHAHAHAA good fucking luck with that. I've had my industrial for over a month and i still cant sleep on that side. Cartilegdes DO NOT HEAL FAST!!!!!!!!!!! i do not recommend getting multiple on both ears. Only one ear unless you like sleeping with your head facing up, you like not being able to brush your hair, you like not being able to shower normally.

Never take a piercing out that you even suspect to be infected. First stop, piercers, second stop, doctors for some borad spectrum antibiotics. Most people mistake infections for general healing or irritation, and rejection.
Highest quality piercing metal is titanium, implant grade. Well niobium is better, but you won't find any of that threaded. Gold is mixed with alot of other metals, like nickel, to make it stronger. Gold is a good idea if it was pure, but then it would be waaay too soft for piercing materials. Surgical steel contains a small amount of other alloys, but its not usually enough to set of allergies. So yah. Titanium is good.
Internally threaded is very good, but its not needed. Depends on piercing method mainly, and how often you plan on changing jewellery. With a healthy, well healed piercing, externally threaded is absolutely fine. And its alot cheaper.
And I hate H20cean. Its horribly overpriced, and it has egg enzymes in.
Either buy some saline solution from a pharmacy (its for eyes), buy one of those empty spray bottles too if you want.. Or make your own sea salt soaks. Tis the same thing as h20cean tries to be, but with less ingredients, and enormously cheaper. 1/8tsp of non-iodonised sea salt mixed in a cup of hot water. I find warm soaks help alot more anyway.
You can also use satin or provon soap, but I've never tried it... Some people love it, and some hate it. Plain SSS are fine for me.

h2ocean is seriously the absolute best thing you can possibly buy. it's 100% natural and works with your body chemistry to make it heal much better and much faster and with no scar tissue whatsoever. the catch? 13 dollars a can, and a can lasts a week.

Mm, my problem wasn't sleeping with a cartilage piercing(well of course during the initial healing it was) but after that, it always gets caught in my towel when I dry my hair. Yanking on a semi healed piercing hurts like bitch, and makes it inflamed. To this day if I change my cartilage to a round ring(I've always had a flat bar) it gets inflamed and I can't sleep on it. And I've had mine done since I was in grade 8... so 5 years ago.
But the spiral is epic!
I think if you can manage not sleeping on either side of your head for months on end, go for it! They look great!
P.S. I find thicker gauges easier to clean... so I wouldn't down size the spiral any, but that is just my opinion. Also my thing is more of Facial piercings, they anything.

I've never seen the need for h2ocean tbh. SSS costs next to nothing and is more beneficial in my opinion.

H2Ocean is pretty much glorified saline solution. It's much cheaper, and just as beneficial, to use sea salt soaks. You're basically paying for the name.

no, i know exactly what you mean but i just think that if i KNOW that this works well, than i dont want to take my chances on something else, even if it might be better. you know what i mean? i'd rather just stick to what i've already tried. thanks for the idea tho i might buy the can of stuff that i like and try the regular sea salt soaks and see if it's the same or something. how do you make one of those? just dissolve sea salt in water?
Add 1/4 tsp of pure sea salt to about 8oz of boiled water. Let it cool a tad and fill a shot glass with it and pop it over the piercing, or with ear piercings dunk your ear in it for about 10 mins or so.

As much as h20cean.
What's great about warm SSS is it helps to draw out lymph and gunk from inside the piercing and I also find it very soothing, especially if the piercing is itching =)

make sure it's warm and let it soak. It'll loosen up the gunk and will be easier to clean.

yeah what do you mean by easier to clean? i want something that's gonna actually clean it, not make it easier to clean.
You soak it, and this draws out any lymph or gunk from inside the piercing. Then wipe around with a cotton bud to remove any more gunk.

If you want something that magically makes gunk disappear, its not gonna happen unless you want something skin dissolving...
You have to clean it yourself too.
Soaking crusties means the gunk will pretty much fall off with a little gentle cotton bud poking.
Sparying saline on, and then not wiping it, does pretty little. It just hardens back into crusties.

yeah, any good piercer wont do that many piercings in one day. your body will go into shock and most of them willl end up rejecting. you are supposed to leave between 6-9 months at least between each piercing and tattoo for them to heal correctly

ummm that's definately not true. like if you got one big ass tattoo, that's pretty much equal to like 3 small tattoos, so you dont have to wait six months between each session. the only reason your body would really reject it is if you dont give it the proper care.

No! Don't use alcohol or peroxide!
Stuff like that is wayy to harsh and will damage the healing cells. You don't really need to kill all the bacteria (and this is close to impossible anyway) you just need to keep it clean.

Piercinngs go a hel of alot deeper than a tattoo, theres not much comparison. And with a big ass tattoo, its normally done in several sessions, so that your body doesn't go into shock, and has a chnace to heal and recover.
Never use peroxide, achohol, bactine, neosproin etc etc...
Its bad stuff, kills all the white blood cells as well as bacteria, which leaves it more open to infection and crap..
Stick to saline of some form. Helps your immune sytem, and gets crustes off.
Me and fomo hang around alot of body mod forums, giving advice and taking it in. (fomo: on IAM?)
And research a hell of alot. Piercings are interesting.
I currently have ... 10? (aww I feel so empty) But have had a lot more. We're not an expert, but we're not ignorant to everything either.

ok so i'll definately take your advice. just let me get it straight. only use sea salt water (dissolve a few spoons in some boiling water and wait for it to cool a bit) soak it or spray it (could i use a cotton ball for my ears and stuff? cause you cant really soak that..) DO NOT use anything anti bacterial, whichhhh i dont really get, cause isnt that what they give you when you get ur ears pierced at the mall and stuff, that piercing solution? it's pretty much just alchol.. other than that what else am i missing? obviously you should keep your hands off of them. i decided im gonna get my nipples done too, so would it be ok if i kept some gauze on them the first couple days? i dont want it to rub, and i have expensive bras so i dont wanna get blood or gunk on them.
thanks so much for all your help! and pleasee make sure i have this all correct, the last thing i want is an infection or rejection.

oh, and whats an IAM??
Not a few spoons of salt, an 1/8th to 1/4 of a teaspoon to about a mug of boiling water.
And you can kinda find an angle to dip your ear in, but cotton balls do work, you just have to be careful not to get any threads caught around the jewellery.
I don't know much about nipple piercings, they scare me and I'm too young to think about them anyway =P
And IAM is BMEs online community. So kinda like a social networking site but based around mods.

I'm not sure about keeping gauze on piercings in general, but nipple piercings generally stop bleeding after a day, but after that you'd probably want something tight on it making sure it doesn't rub up against anything for a week. Just after I got my nipple pierced even a slight breeze against it made me feel uncomfortably arroused and I'm a guy, so I can barely imagine what it does to a woman. I think it's a good idea, personally.
I also suggest getting your nipples by theirselves because they have been by far the most painful piercing I've gotten in terms of initial pain and recovery pain, and I've gotten genital piercings before.

Gauze will be okay....
But try to keep them uncovered as much as possible, piercings need air. And make sure you change the gauze regularly.
That piercing stuff Claire's give you is another reason why they are crap. Its too harsh.
Needs to be non-iodonised sea salt (though nearly all is). 1/8tsp salt in a cup of water, should taste as salty as tears, too much salt is a really bad idea.
And eummm....
I use cotton pads, the ones for removing make-up. They don't disintergrate as much as cotton balls. And getting those tangled round piercings isn't fun. Also use cotton buds/ q-tips to try and get some of the crust off, but be gentle.

haha creep. do they keep hurting a lot for a long time? or just the second they're getting pierced? and yeah im getting them like 2 months before the other ones cause see, tattoo shops around here can give piercings to minors with written parental consent, which i can totally forge. the problem with the other piercings is that they would obviously see them and wonder how i got them and cause a lot of problems. sooo for a few months i just wont have to show them my boobs ;]

The sharp piercing pain was over quickly, but it was replaced by a throbbing, I guess stretched feeling? For several hours. It wasn't the greatest feeling ever but in all honesty it was gone by that night and the increase in pleasure lasted the whole time so it evens out I guess?

im a huge baby, so im afraid im gonna b like, in sooo much pain. was the throbby stretched feeling like... painful? like a stubbed toe? i just really want to know what to expect before i do it. and how does the pain compare to ear piercings? when i pierced my cartilidge, the initial sharp pain wasn't that bad but the subsequent days were kinda painful

You don't want to disinfect it, that nukes all the bacteria in sight, including the good ones, leaving the way open for more bad stuff to get in.
Saline just helps the good guys out, so they can put up a better fight :)
...Pretty much the jist of it anyway.
Also why its a good idea to take a vitamin C tablet too.

Some people describe it as one of the most painful experiences of their life, some people say it's no worse than an ear piercing, really either way just get a stress ball for when you're getting it done and try not to worry about the pain.
The after pain for me was like... well I described it as "like somebody just fisted my nipple" but I think I was just exagerating, just think of it like a headache in your nipple. Totally managable, more annoying than painful.
