before i say anything i'm not saying there IS going to be a remake
i'm saying i would probably be excited to see one being made
((even though as a rule, i hate remakes))

i recently read Stephen King's IT; i've loved the movie since the first time i watched it YEARS ago and came upon the book and was really excited to read it. it seriously was one of the best books i ever read, and was amazed at how much the movie missed. i couldn't believe how much more gruesome the book was and realized that was no gore whatsoever in the movie and thought "someone should remake this".

don't get me wrong, i will never dislike the movie that is already made, i really do love it and the actors in it; but i couldn't believe how tamed down it was. though i know its a tough subject because all of the murders and things that would become more violent is involving young kids, and that's always a very risky thing.

i dunno. just thinking out loud i guess.
any one else have any input?

The movie definitely missed a shit load. Stephen King was at his absolute BEST when he wrote it. Sadly though, a movie that would go strictly along with the book would suck. Have you seen the remake of The Shining? They stuck to the book to a point, but it was horrible. Some things are best left to the imagination. It would be tasteless if they made everything he dreams up real. Don't you aree?

very very true.
i guess it's kinda like
"you're going to have to take the time to read the book, if you really want to see what you're missing"

Yep and the book was over a thousand pages, right? It took me over a month to read. Most people don't like to read as it is. I think it's best left as a book. I'd be upset if it was remade.

The first It sucked. I never read the book. I've never been a fan of Stephen King's horror at all.

Well, I was one of those little boys who was traumatized by it, because it came on regular TV. Fi you haven't seen it, you will not be scared of it at all if you watch it now. And, there is talks of a remake mini-series, but it would be on Sci-Fi. SCI-FI! It was originally supoosed to be TNT, but they had better things going on. But seriously, if they were to remake it on Sci-Fi, I'd rather there be no remake at all. Have you seen their original mvies? I think if there will be a remake, it should be a theatrical two-part release, or a mini series on HBO, so it could get a TV-MA or R rating, and wouldn't have to hold back.

the book was really amazing; and yeah it was like 1090-some pages or something like that
it took me a couple weeks to read, and that was reading it almost all night, every night xP

the movie wasn't really scary, and really looking at it compared to any other movie it wasn't anything special at all; but for some reason i still like it...maybe because of the actors that are in it? i dunno. i just always had a soft spot for it, lol.

it would be difficult to put a rating on it if there was a remake that got as graphic as the book did, especially with such young main characters...

It's just best left alone. The book was pretty terrifying, considering IT was a shape shifter and was nearly everywhere you went...
