So, I went to this movie tonight. Why did I go alone? I don't know... I was in such a great mood about my new internet connection (coming soon) that I just didn't care. I went in the theatre and first of all the girl who was working at the ticket booth (who was younger than me) asked me for an ID. I showed her my ID (I don't see how Bridget Jones could be rated R in the first place) and she made me take it out of my wallet which really annoyed me. She was VERY annoying about it.

Anyway, I sat in the theatre and waited and waited and I noticed there weren't too many other guys coming in. Infact, I think there were THREE (including me). I noticed that girls came in, in groups of eight. They must have been having a girls-only party or something. There were like three or four groups of this. So, I don't know. I watched the movie.

I love Hugh Grant. :) He is my favorite actor. I thought the movie was better than the first. Probably the best part about the movie though, was being surrounded by about fifty girls (mostly good looking). It was cute because at the sad parts the girls would literally go "awwwwww" outloud... and at the end the girls clapped.

How precious.

But it's a girls film made for the sole purpous of making fat girls feel better about themselves. If you were forced into going by a girl i would of symapthised but you went on your own free will which is much worse.

lol thats adorable Aaron.

I want to see the movie but i'd have to sneak in to see it. Why is it rated R?

My guess is because of Bridget's friend who likes to say "fuck" a lot? The U.S. always seems to rate things more harshly anyway.

P.S. Aaron - I think I should get all credit for the enjoyment you experienced when watching this. Remember it was ME who made you watch the first one. ME.

Aaron, you're marvelous.

I haven't seen it yet. I actually went to see it, but it wasn't coming out until the next day, so I went to Shall We Dance instead, which was just lovely.

I saw it. I didn't like it as much as the first one, but it was still good. I'll buy it when it comes out on DVD (no question). I couldn't believe it was rated R either, but I went with three older friends (20ish) so I didn't get carded. I would've been pissed if I was. It's such bullshit when I can rent these films anytime I want, but I can't see them at the theatre? Please, carding at the movie theatre is just asanine. Just take the fucking money.

I saw it, it was pretty good. Decent soundtrack, decent story. I just wish that Hugh Grant played Mark Darcy instead of Colin Firth. Then it would have been better, I could have cared less if she got back together with Colin Firth, however had it been Hugh Grant I would have been rooting for her all the way.

But Hugh Grant wouldn't be able to pull off Darcy. He can do Wickham fine, but Darcy? Fuck no. Plus Colin Firth has got previous experience (he's played Darcy before, in the mid-90's BBC/A&E mini-series, Pride & Prejudice).

Colin Firth > Hugh Grant. As that character, and in general.

I think I'm seeing it sometime this weekend, though I doubt it'll be as good as the first one.

I love Bridget Jones! I think the second one was much better than the first and did anyone notice that she hardly wrote in her diary at all in the latest one?

It was a lot funnier than the first one and im so glad that they decided to put Hugh Grant in it even though his character isn't in the second book. I throughly enjoyed the fight scene between him and Colin Firth ;]

and AND the bit where Bridget gets soaked by the taxi was filmed near where i used to work :D

Noooo that's the best bit Hugh Grant playing a bad guy! He's always given the same English ponce role that it's nice to see him be a bit of a bastard

He'd be better as the other guy, no question. Would have made the film more credible, cause he's likeable in that role.
Colin Firth is just...bland.

In real life, though, Hugh Grant is outspoken. He doesn't care what he says. I was reading an article about him and apparently on Oprah he was just ragging on people that he has worked with in the past. The nicest comment he gave during that interview was about Julia Roberts and he said that she had a big mouth, both talkatively and physically. That was his NICEST comment about a fellow actor/actress.

Colin Firth seems like an angry, mean guy on camera, and that is probably what made him better for the role he had. It made it more interesting. If he was lovey dovey with Bridget all of the time, you would know exactly what was happening.
