Don't you agree?

Well the 90's were boring as well, but this decade was just boring with fashion, nothing extraordinary. We lost the super model days, and that was cool. Fashion wise, prep, emo, normal crap, hip hop is so trite now. I want something new

I hope for a better decade next decade, with supermodels like the Trinity going to the top.

I liked the last decade.
And I thought the 90s were cuteee.
I'm a bit lost at the moment, I can't seem to determine any particular trends in the current season and all my magazines are telling me to buy staple pieces :scared: my initiative fails!

The late 90's were hot, like starting around 1997. Ending around 2001, and fading away around 2003

I agree that the noughties have sucked. Scene and the new version of emo and the gangster hip hop and WAG fashion and prep and all of the fashion has been horrible. But the 80's were amazing, you can not hate the 80's! The 90's had there charm too, it had its up's and down's but was still good. Now fashion and music is so tacky and heartless. Fashion goes in circles so we gotta wait a few decades til the great stuff is back

80's boring? Fo Real?
I like fashion now, it 's fast paced and can be hard to keep up. It's certainly not boring.

^^ Yeah I take that back, I was just thinking the nerdy teenage 80's fashion, like the wild gross hair and the Saved by the Bell look

The models had it going on then; Paulina, Cindy Crawford, GIA!!!

I do not know, I just want the modeling world to be back on the fashion covers back where it should be. Rather than seeing Jessica Alba (popular singer or actress) on every cover.

It better happen next decade so I am still young enough to enjoy it.

I don't want to wait till 30's-40's for great fashion, by then who cares, there's young people clothing and there's old people clothing. You just can't mix and match the two.

I adored 80s fashion. I love bright crazy looking things, and the 80s were pretty funky.

You're showing a nieve outlook on fashion here. The 'old' people wear what was 'in' when they were younger.

SO we will be seeing a rather amusing older fashion soon.

Most things the cat walk and the 'models' do has been pretentious pomposity for a while - just like modern art. Sure you get the odd good thing but as a whole fashion and art have been spazticated by idiots who know nothing.

A perfect example of one fashion idiot is Gok Wan(?) I swear he should of just commited suicide while he was fat. Most things mainstream the noughties have brought is fresh steaming piss. 90's was the start of the downfall and we are looking at I'd guess 20 years before we see good fashion.

With the global economy going arse over tit, trivial luxuries such as fashion will be hit hard. And if countries go ensuit with UK in going into a recession and with businesses that are the backbones of countries failing you could be looking at a depression, a recession could be 5 years short, a depression 10. Think back, if you will, to the recession in the 80's. UK fashion was punk merging into Oi and skin's. You also had the electronica pop music with the 'creative' hair. It was in sense a cheap but effective look and brought with it pride for your country. There is a good chance of a revival to this style with a new hint.

But anything is better then the noughties have brought!!!

Yeah I like 97-01 style too...maybe up to 2002. That was my favorite time. I liked the sexy little outfits people like Britney and Christina wore :)

I want it to come back even though it wasnt THAT long ago.

Why do you have to follow a trend? Make fashion your own..?

I must say; I enjoyed the 2000s, especially the later part (05-09). There was a rise in the presentation quality of males, which made fashion sense a commonplace element, not a term homophobes used against gays. We saw suit elements become mainstream and collared shirts nearly replace t-shirts as the most common male top.

There were a lot of ugly developments as well (Ed Hardy, Affliction) which did live up to their hype, nor will they last much beyond this year.

It is truely hard to make a good new trend that is actually new. Most things have been done and milked, it is less be your own fashion but tastefully enjoy what clothes you like and dont force yourself to one thing. The irony of me not trying to force myself to look punk is i am actually being punk. Only today i was wearing a bench nylon jacket that is almost trackie style with my tartan shorts with a bum flap and some lovely knee high New Rocks. Not everyone can pull all looks off so fashion will always have its tame side but i would love to see some exciting and practical items come from the 'top designers' but until then i'm on a mission to bring the Oi back to where i live, both kinds of Oi of course.

Me too, the music was also hip as well. Cher- Believe, just watching that video sends the late 90's back. Like the bright high lights in hair, it's all cool. Britney was cool, Christina was cool. Well I didn't care for the Backstreet boys, but they had their place.

I was too young to really appreciate it.

I totally disagree. This decade has showcased some of the most revolutionary designers the fashion world has seen in a while. Try Nathan Jenden:

Or Gareth Pugh:

Those words are thrown about in fashion too much. Nothing has made been so different for a long time. Fashion has went stagnent. It is all re used with barely a change. It's a joke. Everything has went OTT with the fake and non realistic look.
