I think he could pull it off. He's got some of the same screwball characteristics as Jim Carrey. Plus, he's not a bad actor, he's just been making some shitty movies lately.

Yea, but a lot of people were saying the same things about Heath Ledger as The Joker. Eddie Murphey has done some great work, and with a good director, he'll do fine.
