I've never read the book, the new one just came out. The movie look pretty interesting.

i've read the first two books (Inkheart and Inkspell), but haven't gotten around to the third yet.
i don't have high hopes for the movie. it was supposed to come out almost two years ago, and was pushed back repeatedly. i don't know of any movie coming out after its scheduled release date and actually turning out to be good.

Wow really, I've never heard of a movie being pushed back THAT far! I've heard of movies in the making for like 10 years, but not pushed back. THAT sucks
