Rules: We are talking established and well-known actors here. Orson Welles doesn't count.

I think whereas, Ron Howard did Apollo 13, one of my favoritest movies ever - George Clooney takes the take.
Good Night, Good Luck was breathtakingly beautifully shot.

I think Kevin Spacey deserves a mention for Beyond the Sea as well - but yeah, Clooney. =D

DARNIT. You mentioned mine.
I adore Ron Howard's work. I've met him before, he's the sweetest individual.

Wow, that must have been exciting.

The reason Clooney beats out Howard in my mind, is I've found some of Howard's work to be a little bland; whereas, Clooney hasn't had the opportunity to get bland yet =P

So you prefer an individual with only one remarkable directing achievement to one with an all-around superior body of work?

Hmm...

Ben Stiller, he's directed a handful of his movies and they always end out decently funny

No, I only think some of his works are superior. I feel the average of his work to be of lower quality than Clooney's.

Ron Howard, all the way.
I mean, come on. Apollo 13, DaVinci Code, A Beautiful Mind, Cinderella Man.

Clint Eastwood.

The first one that came to my mind.

Unforgiven was great, Million Dollar Baby was too.

See I LOVE Braveheart, and Passion of the Christ was pretty cool. But Apocalyptic and Man Without a Face ehhh

Apocalypto was brilliant. Gritty and awesome and pure and just, simple and clean storytelling.

Stiller did a good job with Tropic Thunder.

Ima have to agree with Ben Stiller. I wasn't expecting much from tropic thunder but i ended up loving it.

i hated million dollar baby but i liked changeling and mystic river, so eastwood is okay.
