The Nightmare Before Christmas isn't a Tim Burton movie. It was directed by Henry Selick and the script was written by Michael McDowell. Tim Burton just wrote the shitty kid's book the movie was loosely based on.

I wasn't goddammitting the acronym, I was pissed that even after I dropped a knowledge bomb, people were still saying Nightmare Before Christmas was a Tim Burton flick.

I wasn't even thinking about that, I think I tend to forget myself, that he only wrote the source and produced the film.
I think it's fair to understand people being thrown off, I still remember commercials calling it "Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas" damn everyone wanting title credit +_+
And was there an actual children's book? I thought it was just a poem...
