I'm planning on getting my haircut soon..probably obvious from the title... anyways I was thinking of getting it cut at the shoulders and layered in the back. Though i'm not quite sure on what kind of layering to do. I have really thick, very wavy hair.(that I do straighten) and I wanted to ask whether I should get normal layers that are even, or would it be better to get choppy layers. Also should I thin my hair out a bit too, it's really dense back there.

Below is a picture that should give you an idea of what I'm working with. Though it's not as bad anymore due to my change of shampoo, but it still has it's days when it's like that.

As long as you don't go past the shoulders, you should be okay
I find taking care of short, curly hair a lot harder because you always need to straighten and style it.

I've been growing my hair for quite some time now, and i think it's easier to take care of.

choppy layers would look good with your thick hair.
