I just found a website about hair removal with some methods I never even heard of before.
If anyone tried any of this you should tell me what part of your body you removed hair from and how it was overall( did it hurt, how long it took, how was it after etc.)

http://www.velvetdragon.com/etc/shave.html

Bleaching -- An alternative to hair removal, lasts about two or three weeks. Lightens the hair closer to skin tone, so that it is harder to see. (One should use a bleach specifically meant for body hair.)
Waxing -- It can hurt, particularly when one is new to the method, but leaves the area pretty smooth, and lasts one to six weeks, depending on the person.
Depilatory Creams and Lotions -- Leaves area smooth and doesn't stimulate hair follicles. I used to use Nair but it took far longer than the recommended amount of time to remove hair to my liking and was expensive. Lasts about a week.
Electrolysis -- Usually done by a professional, but there are home systems as well. It may take a long time, usually a minimum of six treatments before the job is done. It is probably the most popular choice for permanent hair removal. One hair is removed at a time.
Epilators -- A machine that yanks the hair out, roots and all. Lasts one to six weeks.
Lasers -- Extremely fast, and usually less pain than with electrolysis. Effects are long lasting and may be permanent after several sessions. One must avoid sunlight while healing.

haha the only one of these I heard of before is waxing.....

dont use the creams/lotions. they'll burn. epilators are usually expensive, but they're getting made cheaper. bleaching only works on fine, thin hair in small areas. and only if you have light skin. dont know about electrolysis or lasers, personally.

id just stick to shaving/waxing.

Bleaching --- My olive skinned friend bleaches her moustache. It obviously depends on how long the hair is. Hers were miniscule.. just dark. Looked totally unoticable afterwards.. Can cause scarring, pigmentation and may look unnatural depending on your skin tone.

Hair removal cream --- Ugh. Awful. Smells disgusting, leaves patches. Hair grows back in a couple of days or less. Can burn.

Waxing --- Awesome. Painful but worth it. Only annoying thing is having to let it regrow :crap:

I should mention Sugaring --- Better alternative to waxing. Less chemicals.. the mixture can even be made at home (i've never tried btw), mixture sticks mainly to the hair rather than the skin so less irritating. Plus if you chicken out - you can just wash it off, unlike other waxes. Always a bonus ;]

Epilating --- My mum used this years ago, and ended up with ingrowing hairs. :selfvomit: So my view is tainted.. but i do have friends who totally swear by it. Painful though.

Laser & Electrolysis - I haven't done either yet, but i plan to get my entire body done ;]

Laser --- Works best on dark hair on pale skin. Hard to eliminate pale hair. Can cost up to $200 per session.. and 6-8 sessions. Not 100% guaranteed. Can cause scarring/pigmentation especially on darker/tanned skin.

Electrolysis --- Basically zaps each individual hair. One at a time :o . More painful than laser as it's basically a little electric shock to the hair. But it is 100% guaranteed.. although can take up to 20 sessions (sometimes more) at around $60 a pop.

Both expensive. Painful. Can cause scarring and pigmentation issues. And need to you to let hair grow inbetween sessions. But probably oh so worth it. ALWAYS GO TO A REPUTABLE PLACE.
