Has anyone gotten their nose pierced? I really want mine done but my mom was all "no!" Does it hurt? How long do you have to wear it before you can take it out?

of course it hurts; how much depends on your pain tolorance.
most likely, you'll never really be able take it out...even a healed piercing can start to cloths within minutes of taking the jewelry out. but once again, it will really depend on your body.

I dunno. With me, the hole sort of shrinks if i keep it out for more than a few hours(it's harder to get the ring back in, but it still goes in), but once i left it out for like two or three months, and i could still get a ring in(it was wayy harder to, yeah. but it went in.. i had to put a smaller earring in first, though, since the hole had gotten so tiny). I have to leave it out a lot for work, but it's worked out fine for me. I know a lot of people who can't take theirs out for long at all before it completely closes, though. I thought getting it done hurt more than my eyebrow or labret piercings, but not too bad. It'll probably make your eyes water when they do it, healing went really smoothly, though. It'll probably take at least three months, probably more, for it to heal, since its cartilage and all.
With my first I could take it out for days at a time, but only after a year or so, and it definitely didn't do the piercing any good. I wouldn't dare leave any other piercings out for more than a few hours.
Of course it'll hurt, you're having a needle put through your nose, but the pain only lasts seconds.

If your nose piercing gets infected, the infection could travel to your brain and kill you.

^that's true for any cut/scrap/etc.

Mine got infected and it didn't kill me. I know a lot of people who's had their nose piercings infected.
I got mine pierced 2 times and it didn't hurt any of them, but it did make me cry.. ha.
Although, nose piercing are so common.. don't do it.

u wont be able to really take it out. closes up even after a year of it being in. for me it hurt more when they put the stud through my nose. but the needle wasnt so bad. go for it! get the straight one. they hurt less. and more comfortablee (straight stud)

I don't think it'll suit your face, tbh.

My friend who's had her nipple, nose & navel pierced, thinks that the nose is the worst one. And i know she wasn't allowed to take it out for long. Get some of those plastic things if you're school doesn't allow it..

I have my nose pierced and I absolutely love it :) I had mine since I was 12 so I can leave it out for months and it wont close up. I used a ear piercing gun, the ones you buy at walmart, and used that. i didnt feel it. but im sure if it was pro it would probably kill.

oh god! don't do this!
piercing guns shouldn't even be used on earlobes let alone ANYTHING with cartilige in it.
fyi professional piercings (the ones done with needles, piercing guns are NOT professional) hurt a lot less.

You're stupid as fuck. The guns can shatter your cartilage. You know what you would look like if you shattered nasal cartilage?
Plus, guns are pretty unsanitary.
And you easily could've misplaced the piercing, causing it to reject.

nose piercings aren't very painful. it was just a moment of discomfort...basically a lot of pressure. afterwards i felt like i had been punched in the nose though. it takes 6-8 weeks to heal.

Yes, the guy that pierced my nose said eyebrow and nose are the worst piercings to get. It takes 6 weeks to heal completley..

i have mine.
i didnt think it hurt at all
but thats just me
umm u should keep it it for 6-8 weeks
and make sure u get it done at a for real piercer
with a needle
this could just be a personal preference
but when u buy rings
go for screws
dont do the ones with the ball
at the end
they hurt like hell sometimes
to take out or put in

When you put tbh at the end of your statement...it sounds wrong.

It's not grammatically favorable, yet still sensical.
Anyhow, I didn't think it hurt at all to get my nose pierced. Deffinitely make sure you get a nose screw, not a nose bone or nose ring. Nose bones are absolutely horrible for your piercing, and rings tend to spread infection faster.
