Do you think he deserves an oscar for his part in The Dark Night?

I do, I think he played fantastic as the joker and its such a shame he can not be praised for how he acted....I thought the film was great, and deseverves and oscar!

I'm not normally for "Super Hero" genre movies winning such prestigious awards, but after seeing the impressive acting of Heath Ledger as "The Joker". I truly believe he should be given a nomination and eventually the award.

I definitely think he will be nominated but the oscars aren't til March so I am not sure someone else won't come up that could win it.

I think it was a very good performance, and as much as I strive to avoid hype, I think he deserves a nomination.

I doubt he'll actually win, and I think it's far to early to say if he's earned it, but I think a nomination should be considered for sure.

I love this...People saying he deserves an Oscar and only saying it because he passed away, and people saying he doesn't deserved it because they're trying to be polar opposites to the people who say he does.

it should also be noted that this isn't his only fine performance; he was excellent in Brokeback Mountain, Monster's Ball, and Candy. :nod:
so everybody saying his talent as an actor is being hyped up because of his passing, should look into some of his other roles.

Heath's performance was fantastic. The Joker has, in the past, been a lame ass. Even in the cartoons he is always portrayed as a gay ass lunatic, but Heath actually created a new Joker.
If anyone in this movie has a shot at an Oscar, it is him.

I laughed out loud in the hospital scene where Harvey Dent awakes with the Joker sitting by the bed and says "...Hi". It was hilarious.
