I just saw that Molly Ringwald will be on a new show on ABC Family called The Secret Life of the American Teenager. She is playing the mother of a girl who gets pregnant in high school. I think it sounds like an interesting idea for a show because you rarely see teens really deal with having babies on tv. It starts on July 1 so it gives us something to watch this summer!

i think they've kind of run out of ideas for t.v./movies.. and there haven't been that many movies or t.v. shows about teen pregnancy i don't think.

Or maybe they realize its an issue that is affecting teens across the country that should be addressed and not ignored. Movies usually sweep the issue under the rug. With this show it really looks like something you have to see her deal with instead of it just being in one episode of a show. I'm interested to see this and how the character and her family deals with it. It's definitely a topic that we should be discussing and not ignoring.

It starts July 1. Ok so teen pregnancy in general is not an 'original" idea but I think the way they are focusing on it is. And its from the same creator of 7th Heaven... That show always took on some great topics so I'm excited to see that on ABC Family.

i saw a commercial for it. It looks kind of interesting and I like the shows on that channel like Kyle XY and Greek...

I know.. ABC Family has been coming out with some really great shows lately... I'm really addicted to Greek and Kyle XY so I'm thinking this will be just as good. The shows have been smart funny and interesting and not as cheesy as some shows for teens on other channels.... it should make for a great new summer show.

I'll probably watch this show because nothing is ever on. And I really liked 7th Heaven so it should be good.

Great...now more girls inmy town are gonna get knocked up...it was like a trend for girls in my town to get pregnant right after juno came out. I fear for my generation.

That is what happend in my town..i had gotten pregnant this past spring..but it was completely by accident >. I dont see why girls are getting pregnant to gain self esteem...mine when down big time when i got pregnant...

Oh ya I read about all those teen in the Gloucester high school that wanted to get pregnant. I think that s bit crazy. Hopefully, they will see shows like American Teen, which looks like a more realistic portrayal of what it is like to be a pregnant teen ad realize its not fun times playing dress up. I can't believe 17 girls are expecting babies!

it was the fact that they WANTED kids that surprised me... like, i can understand if they accidentally get pregnant like in Juno.. but the fact that they want kids and are highfiving and stuff... wow... just wow.
