Trees... The trees release a neurotoxin to make humans kill themselves. The wind carries the neurotoxin.

hey, everyone that's bitching about the threadstarter ruining it...s/he clearly posted "spoilers" so it's your own stupid faults you opened the thread.

It says Spoiler Warning....if you read it and didn't want to know, you're an idiot.

And this movie sucked. It had terrible acting.....absolutely terrible. Mark Wallberg was a joke, and so was the girl (i forget her name). Every line Mark Wallberg said seemed like a joke.

The writing sucked too...didn't help the acting.

The whole movie was had an environmentalist theme behind it, which even if you agreed with, still made it suck. We all thought it was gonna be some crazy weird twist. It's just a movie that wants us to stop driving our cars and littering.

I think M. Night Shyamalan has run out of ideas. He impressed us all with the Sixth Sense and Unbreakable with his really cool plot twists and creative ideas (I even liked Signs), but starting with The Village he's pushing it now. He's trying to come up with the same type of thrilling twists that he was known for but......he's got nothin.

Plus there were some random creepy characters (like the plant/hot dog guy and the old lady at the end in the house) that were never explained.

the point was to never explain them. He likes to makes us think, he shouldn't have to tell us all the answer, its soooo much better/scarier that way. The director is a fucking aritist.

But the whole movie was supposed to have a scientific explanation. The old lady just had no significance....all the plant guy did was first suggest that the plants were the problem.

On a more positive note, I did like the scene where Mark Wallberg finds out that his friend is dead because the toxin hit his area, and the little goes over and whispers something to him.

lol (the little hehe)

Well no, movies are supposed to hav the parts that have no point. b/c usually they really do. Usually you hav to just go back and look for the point.

i meant to say "the little girl" haha whoops

Maybe, but I just felt like she was gonna at least hold some part of the puzzle...like the plant guys was the one who said it was the plants. I thought the old lady was gonna at least give some sort of information or clue about what was going on...

The whole thing behind her was that she didn't care about the world because she thought the world didn't care about her...and also she kept thinking that Mark Wallberg and friends were out to get her ("Are you going to kill me in my sleep?") or take her posessions (like when he finds the doll...) I just can't seem to tie that in to the whole theme of "Nature is defending itself because it fees threatened by us".

...Or M. Night is so deep in his own shit that he can't even explain it himself.
