What brands do you think vanity size?

What do you think about vanity sizing? Just say you are usually a 4 and you go and buy a 0, would you feel better about being a 0 even though they are the same size?

It's just I have bought a pair of size 4 Abercrombie and Fitch jeans online and thought they'd fit, but they are swimming on me! They are about equal to a AU10-12! The US must have REALLY big sizing or something...

Heaps of stores do it here and its annoying me because sometimes the smallest size is too big

Brands like Abercrombie, American Eagle, Hollister and such here in the U.S. do use vanity sizing.

Really?

So you don't think sizes differ from store to store? The idea of vanity sizing is to make the clothes too big for the size, so people feel good about fitting into a smaller size, and therefore buy it.

Are you serious in that you've only encountered it the American lines? It's rampant in Australian lines too, for guy's it's always too big, or designed for my chest and a pregnent man's stomach.
