There's skin lightening creams that can be found at walmart, etc.

I have some of those just right below my neck near my collar bone. It sucks too. It keeps peeling and bleeding and skin coming off. I want to get rid of mine too.

I hear rubbing Vitamin E on your scars helps, though I have not tried it myself.

Are you exfoilating 2-3 times a week?

Use bio oil if you can get it, although it has vitamin E in it so if you cant get bio oil try Vitamin E.
If you cant find anything try asking your doctor if they know of a product that works, they probably wont refer you to a dermatologist for a small are like that anyway.

I had the same problem, but when summer came and I was outside all the time the sun made them disappear.

I've read (don't know for absolute fact) that some sun does help, but if you're out too long they'll get darker and more pronounced.

You can buy refining masks that will help lift scars. I'm betting your scars are just surface scars and they'll lighten up with ease. I have a lot on my cheeks and my chin and proactive's refining mask helped them fade.

I also bought Neutrogena's spot treatmeant for around $6 and it works really good. I like it more than Proactive.

Yes! You should!
Use a soft washcloth once a day and an actual exfoliator about once a week or so.

Well, I guess that depends...

If you want the nicer sounding answer there are plenty of over-the-counter products that are supposed to fade scars.

But if you want an honest answer... there's really not anything that you can put on scars to make them go away faster. Companies will always try to sell their products to customers who want to do *something* about it, but that doesn't mean they work.

I verified this with my mom, just in case anything new has been developed since I last heard. She's a family practice physician so I usually trust her on these kinds of things.
She says that the dark spots are hyperpigmented because the skin was irritated. Over time, the scars will fade on their own. But she says the best thing you can do is to leave them alone.

Instead of paying some outrageous amount for a product that doesn't do much of anything, I suggest you develop your concealer applying skills. Concealer that's just a bit lighter than your skin will make the spots less noticeable until they heal.

I have the same problem, although I never get much acne, I get them around the bottom of my chin/jawline and after it's gone there is always a scar, no matter what. I started washing my face more usually right before bed with a soft cloth and some warm water and then after wiping my face down with a cooler cloth. My scars faded pretty quickly, I also use Bio oil now and it works pretty good. Also, picking causes the worst scarring, so try not to pick and there will be less scarring.
