Has anyone ever had false nails done professionaly like at a salon. How long do they last? I've had the ones where you stick them on yourself but I've not had them done before.

I think false nails are kind of tacky. Especially those great big long ones. It's like having talons on the ends of your fingers. I'd poke an eye out.

if you get them keep them short.
acrilic doesnt like to stay on me those last like a week for me
fiberglass lasts about 2 weeks before they grow out alot/get fucked up

in general for most people they last 2 weeks before they have to get them touched up

I got them a few years ago. They last until your nails grow out, then you either have to get them filled in, or take them off. Once you take them off your nails are completley destroyed. It wasn't worth it.

My nails are done right now.
I got them done two weeks ago, they still look perfectly fine to me.
I get them re-done every three weeks.

They are good to get if you plan on keep getting them done otherwise I don't suggest them. They ruin nails big time. And depending on where you get them done it can be a very painful time
getting them done.

Wow. I think you people just have a lot of bad luck with nails/nail technicians.
My nails are done right now. I took them off for the summer, and my nails were fine. (As long as you get them filed off and don't rip them off yourself, they don't completely destroy your nails.)

Mine are gel. I love them. They're short 'athletic' ones, so that they don't get in the way and don't hinder me picking up stuff.

I get them redone every 3-4 weeks when they grow out. The time inbetween fills all depends on how fast your nails grow.

I've made an appointment for Thursday I might get the gel or acrylic ones, like the woman from the salon advised when I phoned them.

I've had them before, just for like formals and stuff, though. I really only think they look pretty if you get the french tips. I hate the designs, they're tacky. But they last about two weeks, then you have to get them filled in, but it's cheaper to get them filled in than it is the first time you get them fully done.
If you're going to get them, get french tips. Please don't get a design, whatever you do.

i was supposed to go back and get it refilled after like 2 or 3 weeks, but i didn't.
i pulled them off myself.
my nails looked really shitty.
but they were great while they lasted.

Yeah ive had acrylics done quite a few times and god they last forever. The last time I got them done I wasnt planning on getting backfils coz it was just for my sisters wedding and I was going to let them grow out but it takes to long and I tried to pull them off my self and they just dont come off, ended up going back to the salon I got them and soaking them off in acetone... so yeah they last for agggesss. But you have to get backfills to keep them looking nice.

Another time I got them I pulled them off my self and it totaly ruined my nails... looked sooo shitty!!!

I got them done today. I had white tips and a pink glittery pattern on, they should stay on for about 2 weeks.

I think it's pretty. But it's kind of weird when someone has perfect fake nails, but the rest of their outfit/ appearance is crappy.
But that's not your question. I've never got them done, and I have no idea how long they last, sorry.

My friend gets hers done all the time. I think it is a waste of money.

Was it your first time getting them done? How are you doing with picking up stuff and pushing buttons on the phone and stuff like that? lol. The first time I ever had mine done I couldn't push buttons without messing up and I couldn't hold forks or spoons right. lol. But yeah I get mine done every 2 weeks.

Yeah it was the first time professionaly. I could pick stuff up, it was a bit awkward at work, because of the tills (I work in a shop), It was quite hard to pick up coins on the counter, but that was about the only thing. They lasted for 10 days. I took them off because bits of them started to chip off anyway.

As long as you don't get them super long they won't hinder you picking stuff up, I prefer short ones because, to me, they look better. Gel stays on the best, acrylic is cheaper though.
