Without a doubt in my opinion the best show ever made. Lol i dont have HBO but I watched them all on netflix, I thought it was amazing..

I really think everyone should give it a shot , you dont have to be into history or what not to appreciate it , its just like the sopranos only set in ancient times. but i love how they showed the people as so similar to us , which technically they were. if anything they made Mark Antony into the funniest motherfucker to ever grace the tv screen, yet it still was a serious show and not a comedy. the action was pretty good too.

If you liked sopranos, youll like this one, its a shame it only went on for 2 seasons, but the character development was absolutely awesome. If you liked 300 , gladiator, Troy, youll like this.

Theres a clip where one of the main chars trashes some ass in the arena. one of the most badass fight scenes ever filmed imo.

really didn't like it at all, maybe because Carnivale got cancelled so they could make it, and Carnivale is ten thousand times the show Rome was.

Greatest thing to ever come from HBO would be Band of Brothers and Rome folliwing close behind it. Personally I love the show, but I started to watch it maybe at the start of the 3rd episode if anyone wants to really get into it I recommend trying to start with the first one.

Rome was great. Really well produced, and I learned Latin so it was cool to see aspects of what I learned come to life on TV. "Salve, citizen!"
