I have been wondering who would win if Batman were to fight Spiderman. I think Spidey could take him.

why is this in the movie boards?

^ seconded.

But, if we are talking movie versions of the characters, neither would win because the movie would be too afraid to insult fans of either series.

it's batman versus Spiderman, webster.I think he was implying that since he beat Superman he could be Spiderman...

But yeah, Spiderman's really not in my top list of heroes - all his enemies are cooler than him.

and he doesn't have the coolest enemies of any hero, either, that honor belongs to Batman, who is more badass than all his villians... ipso facto, batman wins.

Pakx, dude, can I post in them?

And I agree about the Batman thing =)
When I was little I went on a Punisher kick, but he can only be so fun because a lot of his villains suck.

was never so big on Punisher, even when Garth Ennis does him. Punisher isn't a superhero, that's what makes punisher a good idea, but every writer that gets thier hands on him treats him like the only sane guy in the room.

I have The Punisher Vol. 1: Welcome Back, Frank and Born and they have the character just as he should be. Pure hatred, even to the point of hating his own hate.
I want to check out more of Garth Ennis' Punisher, and maybe even move on to Preacher, but there's just so much great DC (and Batman) out there, how can I find the time?

If we're talking who would win based on facts of the super heroes' attributes, it'd be an easy win for Spider Man, but Spidey is a fucking tool boy. Batman is cooler, I've come to realize that in my older age.

i'm not the biggest Garth Ennis fan in the world, his stuff is kind of (really) obnoxious, i realize what preacher did for indy comics at the time, but it doesn't make it a very good comic. even his newest and most highly praised release, The Boys, has lost it's charm at this point.

Spider-man, hands down. Batman is almost always just looking out for his inner circle or old ladies, while Spider-man is usually saving fucking New York City. The movie version of Batman is much better than others, though, I will admit. Once the Dark Knight comes out (), my opinion may change, but I've been loyal to Spider-man for many years now.

I dislike how people say Batman is much better because he does not have super powers. Well, he received advanced training in martial arts, is a billionaire, and has most likely received one of the best possible educations in America. Spider-man is a middle-class university student who has to actually fucking work, go to school, and designed his web all on his own (I don't give a crap what the second movie claims about this, its still cartridges), and has to purchase stuff for it.

Alright, we've all heard the "i'm a marvel and i'm a DC" rant before, but,

A: what the heck're you talking about with "Batman only covers his inner circle?" i havent a clue where that's coming from.

B: Batman is much better because he's a more interesting and literary character than Spiderman, not because he doesn't have powers.

Born is a little rocky, I think. I really like it, but it seems to have an open interpretation and then in all the writing before and after the actual comic he basically tells you how to interpret it. (And I like my way better.)
Welcome Back, Frank I do really recommend though.

I can definitely see how people may think that a bit if they are judging too much from Batman Begins. I kinda hope in one of the next two films he will have to make the choice between innocents and one he cares for. (And not cope out like Spiderman - damn those movies suck.)
B: Batman is much better because he's a more interesting and literary character than Spiderman, not because he doesn't have powers.Don't use words like literary around these sorts, you're going to confuse them. (kidding all)

o_O Spiderman's wrecked buildings, destroyed subway trains, leveled factories, and not to mention he left that wayward construction crane swooping around ad nauseum after he saved the blond in part 3? they just decided they'd rather have a gaping plot hole, so they could make room for the dance sequence, instead of him actually saving anyone but the bleach white blond girl from certain doom.

I was always partial to Green Arrow myself, after they got him out of the whole I'm Batman with a bow phase, I seriously don't know what they were on when they decided the Arrowcar was a good idea, but as he's not an option it would have to be the Bat.
