I'm going to this outdoor music festival at the end of June, so at the campgrounds they have showers and stuff but absolutely no plug ins for anything, not even for campers and such. So instead of having ugly hair for the four days I'm there I wanted to see if I could get battery powered blow driers or straightening irons. Has anyone heard of such a thing? And if so where would I get one and how much would they cost. Please no websites that they can be ordered on because I don't have a credit card and my parents would never let me use it. And also I live in Canada so preferably Canadian stories.

you can get portable hair straighteners, they have gas canisters in them or something? there not excellent but better than none.

A campground with no electricity for campers? Hmm.
They should have battery powered hair dryers and such somewhere, but all I can find online is sites about patents. Maybe someone will bring a generator or something?

Buy a generator

And they make battery powered portable straightners, but you'd have to make sure they were charged up. And they look pretty useless. I think they were babyliss or something.

Just buy a hat instead

They sell straighteners that run off of gas, I guess they'd not be too great for being eco-friendly and all, but oh well, that happens.
I've seen them at the Shoppers by my house, it's true that they probably aren't quality like you could get in a regular straightener, but there, and I think I saw one in a Zellers catalogue way back when.

I know it's not exactly a brand name or anything, but if you're desperate, there are things like

Avon sells some.
Although I would suggest just wearing your hat in braids or a ponytail.

you can get them battery powered, but your really missing the whole idea of a festival, your the ONLY one that wil look clean, and why spend your time messing around with your hair when your there to enjoy yourself, nobody is going to care what you look like, and if your THAT bothered, you can stay in a festival hotel instead of on the campsite.

Actually no, I wont be the only one to look clean because half of the people that go live in the nearby city of Dauphin where they can go to their house and shower and do their hair and makeup. And also there isn't a hotel to go to stay at close enough. I just wanted to know places I can get stuff like that, I don't need people telling me how I should spend my weekend at Countryfest thank you very much, next time keep it to yourself.

Just plait your hair...
Festivals are not about looking pretty, its about not caring about anything, getting drunk and having fun...

And as soon as you need the toilet, you'll need a shower anyway.
As said before buy a hat, put your hair up. Or maybe try some of that leave in shampoo stuff. Thats fairly good...

How long is it for anyway?

Next time you might want to get some common sense and look through a store catalogue!

Like what? I live in the middle of nowhere. We just have a Walmart and they don't have any because I checked. I'm eight hours away from any big cities but I'm going in a couple days and I thought I could get some ideas of where I should look because I'd rather be trying on clothes than looking for a cordless straightening iron.

It's four days long, and my hair is cut short now so I can't even put it up and I look horrible in hats.

But the thing is.. you need a credit card for things like that and I don't have one and my parents wont let me borrow theres, even though I'd pay them back for it. I've googled it, it told me who makes them and such but not really who sells them.

Is there some sort of argos equivalent in America?

They sell nearly everything..... and then you could reserve it online and stuff

yeah you can get gas powered ones but it is really not worth it, i went to my first festival last year and i had friends who lived just outside the park so we went to her house to have showers and straighten our hair, but it just turned out to be unnecessary vanity cause it got messed up anyway and we looked stupid compared to everyone else.

could you maybe use your friends house?
