Do you prefer silver and gold metallic necklaces, wristwear etc. or 'ethnic' and tribal type of jewellery made from leather/ material/ hemp etc.?

Silver/gold chains on guys generally make me think of players, pimps, and bro-dudes. A general rule to go by... is that if you can call it "bling" you probably shouldn't wear it and expect to be respected. Casual hemp/leather strapped jewelry looks good on most guys, but I wouldn't advise wearing it in a professional situation... it gives a really laid back, relaxed look.
You can rarely go wrong with a good watch, though again...avoid the word "bling". Brushed/frosted metals are must more suitable, both in casual and professional situations... I'd say that holds true for most men's jewelry.
As far as piercings go, avoid plastic and big gaudy-looking fake gemstones.
All a matter of opinion I'm sure... that's just mine.
