Mine just broke like today. It doesn't heat up anymore the light indicator doesn't even go off. I had it for what a year now? It is some Conair one. And my sister has one from her friend that is 200 dollars in value since she worked at a hair saloon. I was supposed to get one for me, but they ran out. And I am not going to go buy another one and have it break on me. And 200 dollars on a damn flat iron hell no. I just use it for those night time going outs with friends. To look extra nice. So what do I do?

well for the time being.. untill you get a new one....

if you practice at it a curling iron can be used as a straightner also...

you just cant hold it in one spot.. so it dosent get the curl...

but my hair is naturally straight/wavy and that works for my if i cant uses a straightner for some odd reason

My friends do that to their hair its just my curling iron is small. Not one of those nice big ones.

maybe dry your hair with a regular brush, so it will dry straight..

and if you have any small waves.. them use the small curling iron to fix the little problems

I just bought a brand new starighter and it works nicely. It's called GVP and it costs about $60 at Sally's. :)

....just buy a straightener that isn't 200$.

I bought one a few weeks ago for 80. I got it in the mail this week.
It works great.

And I want the one that doesn't damage my hair if that is possible. Like the one on the infomercials.

If you do get a new one, try Chi, T3, GHD or Paul Mitchell flat irons.
Those are the best ones, IMO.
GHD, CHI & T3 can be pricey though, so watch for sales.

Yea ceramic is really good to make your hair look really nice. Thats the spray I was using and it messed up my broken iron. My iron kept peeling from the spray. The paint would peel or something?

definatly a chi, they wont break like a peice of shit one you get at walmart

but if your gunna be cheap then use a clothing iron to iron your hair straight.
its not too hard.
