My male opinion agrees with this.

Dont change your hair. Too many girls have short choppy scene hair, yours is long and pretty. You'll be gorgeous without the braces =)

No scene cut just a normal layered cut would look good. Layers doesn't equal scene cut.

Lengthwise I would say probably shoulder length maybe just passed the shoulder.
