So I want to know which you guys would rather have.

A Datsun 240Z with an RB25 DET motor

or

A Nissan 240SX with an RB25 DET motor

the z any day. tho i'd rather it not be hacked up. keep the old L series in it. they sound meaner.

I'd say the 240Z with the 2.5L single turbo would be a bad bitch! There are a lot of RB-ed 240SXs rolling around, but the 240Z is a car that you do not see many of (let alone with their RB brethren transplanted in). Go for the 240Z for originality, but expect to have a thinner wallet when the day is done.

Yes it will. I did a little research and curb weight on the Z is 2355 lbs. To show how light that is, an Exige weighs in at 2000 lbs. And actually most of the Z's I have seen have not been beaten on like the SX's have. Most of the Z owners are older guys so I doubt that they have tried to drift in one. Also it will cost me about the same to do either one of them.

I know exactly what you mean about buying older cars because the older guys don't drift them, I ran into the pproblem all the time when I was looking for RX-7s that the car had been stripped and beaten because some stupid wanted to drift his car. Only guy I know of the drift muscle cars is Ryan Hampton, but his '69 Camaro has so many fabricated suspension parts that I doubt many other people could figure out how to set those cars up.

And if it costs you the same, go 240Z. There is just so much more merit in owning a true Z car as opposed to being labeled as a 240SX owner.
