Hey,
I am a media student, and for my A-level exam, I have to conduct research to find out if certain advertisements or campaigns influence you to try and change your body type and eating habits?
If you could let me know what campaigns in magazines influence you whether its from a clothing advert or an advertisement about cosmetics.
Also, I would like to know how many of you agree with using size 0 models in magazine advertisements and let me know if you think they do influence teenagers eating habits.
Replies from both males and females would be appreciated.
Thank you.

I think its wrong using stick models for advertising. then all the other girls..reading it..want to be just like them cause they start comparing themselves and want to be like the girls in the magazines to feel 'normal' or 'pretty'
It sometimes does influence me, but not the weight. im happy with my weight and i think im healthy, i dont need some 90 lb bitches strutting their stuff and then not -eating, thats not healthy and it makes you look tired and shit.- They do influence. but like a lot of ppl say...We cant do anything about it . cause in the end...models will always be thin....bla bla bla' and thats completely wrong and offensive.
Cosmetics....hmm...i do it how i want it..all those things like 'FIND YOUR PREFECT SHADE. or FIND UR PERFECT OUTFIT. is complete bull. they should NOT be telling us 'wat would look good on us' sure.. for 'body-type' MAYBE. but like.. 'wats in fashion' ECT. is bullshit. ppl should wear wat they want to, and as long as they feel comfortable in it. Like hollister....the clothes are okay...but EVERYONES wearing them!! why would everyone want to look like a complete clone?? i dont get it, wear something diferent! wear something that YU want to wear...and not just for the sake of fiting in..cause thats not a reason.

uhh...
The media doesn't influence me at all. You just have to not be a dumbass and realise that they are photoshopped, and models are naturally tall and skinny - lots of them don't starve themselves.

Magazines influence me to buy certain products, they give me fashion inspiration and great ideas for my hair or makeup. But I'm not influenced by the size zero models. They don't make me feel bad about myself and they don't encourage me to shove my fingers down my throat. I'm not stupid, I know that that's just the fashion industry and that's just one person (or set of people's) opinion. Besides, we all know it's airbrushed, so why bother worrying?
I personally think people blame the media way too much. Just because a girl sees a super skinny model in a magazine does NOT mean she's going to go anorexic. I never feel inferior when I'm reading a fashion magazine, in fact-I feel a lot better about myself afterwards. Because they're made for people like me. Normal people who love fashion & who want to look good.
