It's not the be all and end all of cinema by a fucking long shot but it is a good film, though I do feel people read into it far too much. I also think people should have to read the book.

I love Fight Club. I've been meaning to read the book for ages but so far I just own the movie. I got it for my birthday this past August. Everytime I watch it I notice something different.

I liked it, I didn't think it was super amazing like a lot of people though.

The book was great, but I find people really need to read the book before completely understand the movie. Chuck Palaniuk (can't spell it) has a unique way of story-telling and I found that they captured it rather well in the film, but the film does seem quite pointless by the end, meanwhile the book seems more clear.

I think it is a good film but when people talk about how they like it because it's sooo deep and such a twist and all of this other bullshit it pisses me off.. Try some of david lynch's early work for a deep mindfuck of a movie.. BTW im not saying anyone in here or the op said it was deep or a twist im just making that comment because ive seen it posted alot

I saw this for the fist time the othe night, was quite impressed. Generally I find myself dissapointed by films that have been hyped up. I love the scene where a guy gets a priest to fight him by attacking him with a hose.

Actually, there are eight. ;]
1st RULE: You do not talk about FIGHT CLUB.
2nd RULE: You DO NOT talk about FIGHT CLUB.
3rd RULE: If someone says "stop" or goes limp, taps out the fight is over.
4th RULE: Only two guys to a fight.
5th RULE: One fight at a time.
6th RULE: No shirts, no shoes.
7th RULE: Fights will go on as long as they have to.
8th RULE: If this is your first night at FIGHT CLUB, you HAVE to fight.

My position:
I agree with the OP (except for the twisted comment, but more on that later) one of the greatest films ever.
On the Book:
For the record, I think the book is pretty mediocre. Of Course, I love the main idea, or else I wouldn't like the film so much; it's just not written too well. Any one interested, check out Invisible Monsters or Survivor, much much better books by Palahniuk.
As for this 'twisted' stuff:
Now, as for the twisted comment, I think it's only twisted at face value. Now, it's definitely dark humor, but really, it makes too much sense to be twisted. It shows off the dark side of the world, and uses insanity to illustrate it, but that doesn't make the subject matter insane in anyway.
I think the more you watch and understand this film, the more you understand about our society's times.
We are in a middle period, with no sense of a leader or father. We are drifting through a state of anarchy.
I haven't been around long enough to say, but maybe it's always been like this, maybe this is just an effect of the transitional state we are in, either way, it sucks.
