get a nice trim. stay away from over use of heat on your hair. keep your hair moisturized. condition your scalp well when you wash your hair and massage the scalp so that your blood will be have a nice flow and will promote healthy hair and oils from the scalp to moitsurize it well. use heat protectant when you are using something hot on your hair =]

actually, stupidity would be posting a question that requires only a smidgen of common sense to figure out for yourself.
an example would be this thread.

Just trim them. That's all you really have to do.You can put in conditioner at the ends and let it set for 1-3 minutes so it improves damage. There are a lot of hair products out there like leave-in conditioners, hair repair creams, and hot oil treatments. For the heat use, just make sure your straightener is pure ceramic.Lots say they are ceramic, but they are mixed with other metals.

Trim them and use protection spray next time you straighten.

Get them cut off.
Duh.
If you straighten your hair alot use some type of heat protection spray.
Ask your hais stylist what kind to get. Or just go to wal mart or get like Matrix sleek look thermo-proector or something like nexxus.

To keep from getting slit ends - NEVER BRUSH YOUR HAIR WHEN ITS WET. Use a comb is you HAVE to. The best thing to do when you just showered is to let your hair air dry. DONT TOUCH IT. It keeps your hair healthy.
And if you HAVE to straighten it then get some bed head flat iron gel stuff. It doesnt make your hair greasy.

i use a heat protectant serum. make sure it's a hair polisher also so that your hair will have a glossy look . make sure the protectant has something with aloe , vitamin E and silicone
vitamin E and silicone help to seal in moisture which leaves the hair silky smooth , frizz free and great shine

i used to have this like sort of obsesion with just sitting there for like ages just picking them, but it totally destroyed my hair =[ but now i have my hair shorter so i cant reach as easy lol =P
so yerr, just get a real good trim and dont used hairdryers or straighteners as much.

no, you was asking how to get rid of them.
you might have been better asking a prevention, as there is no cure, you have to cut them off once they have split.

You can't fix split ends. The only way to get rid of them is to cut them off.
Putting conditioner or any sort of 'repair' serum on the ends won't fix split ends. It will make them slightly less noticable, but the damage is already done.
When you straighten your hair, try not straightening the very ends. I don't know how curly your hair is but if it's mostly straight, this might work. When my hair was long I only straightened the middle section -- I didn't run the straightener down the last inch or so.
Good luck.

^^^^^
Those conditioners and hair repair things won't fix them I know that. They prevent breakage though.
