If she has long hair, you're in for a hell of a lot of work.
Go to your local drugstore, ask the pharmacist for lice shampoo, that's a start. You have to follow the instructions, washing regularly with that, oftentimes, they'll also give you a tea tree oil type conditioner to use with it. While you're there, ask them for any other suggestions, all of this is from when I Was little, and could be a bit out of date.
Now, that's just a start though, the really hard, unpleasant stuff, is getting all the nits and lice out. Usually with the shampoo, you'll get an incredibly fine tooth comb, and you pretty much have to section off the hair and go through every strand, and you'll probably have to do it lots of times, too.
I had it when I was really little, it's really unpleasant.
Also, if it's elementary or middle school, they usually like to have the office informed at the school and they'll have the nurse in to check the other kids, because it can get passed around a lot.
Good luck!

I used to get lice when I was younger.
I mean, it was just something you got in elementary school.
Go to the pharmacy, or Wal-Mart, and find a lice shampoo.
A good brand is Lice-Aid. I wouldn't suggest the cheap or off brands.
You'll have to follow the instructions and use the stuff reguaraly.
A home remede is to put either mayo or vaseline in your hair.
Then put a shower cap on and sleep like that.
Wash it out in the morning. It will take a while to get it out of your hair.
Make sure to inform the school and maybe keep your sister home for a day or two.
Also wash the bedsheets and clothing throughly.

That sucks.
First, just get shampoo that will kill the lice. Ur sister will have to have at least two treatments using it. Then ull have to go through her hair with a nit comb, which takes a while considering u have to go through it strand by strand. and ull have to comb through it every night until all the nits are out.
I've had it once and we also used this other shampoo that killed the eggs. U should prolly use that as well cuz that will keep any nits left in her hair from hatching. u really dont want that to happen because if just one egg hatches she'll have it all over again.
There's also a robi comb u can use. It's a comb that shocks any lice thats living in hair. You should check ur hair and make sure u dont have any and it would probly be best to treat ur hair anyway just to be safe. Wash anything that has been on ur sisters bed and clean ur whole entire house really well and spray furniture with lice killer. That's what I remember doing when my sister and I both had it.

fpbnidfgpdojytpoyj[ky the thought of lice creeps me out
my cousin used to get it ALL the time. she had to cut her hair off at one point.
there's medical shampoo that will help with it like everyone else said.
also, make sure to throw out her current bed sheets and stuff asap.
